This breed is from the Herding group. It comes in three different varieties; long-haired, short-haired, and wire-haired. The color varies. It's life expectancy is about 12 to 14 years. Almost unknown outside Holland, the breed is valued there for it's ability as a herder and quick reflexes.

it's a large breed with "human-like" eyes. A good breed to jog with, not a "racy" type dog, moving more slowly and methodically than many other gun dog breeds. It is not a protection breed. He is either unlikely to attack under any circumstance or would only do so if he or his family is directly threatened.
