Whiskey Lullabye-Brad Paisley and Allison Kraus, and The Good Stuff-Kenny Chesney, and Holy Water-Big and Rich
A lot of songs can bring tears to my eyes depending on my mood. I have songs I listen to when I'm feeling blue, it always feels like a release.
But the ones that never fail to make me cry are the ones I associate with loved ones who have passed on.
Stranger on the Shore (Acker Bilk), my departed grandpa's all time favorite song
Unchained Melody (Righteous Brothers) - The song I used for RB Cody's tribute
My Heart Will Go On (Celine Dion) - The song I used for RB Willie's tribute
Several of mine have already been listed--
The Christmas Shoes (Bob Carlisle)
Butterfly Kisses (Bob Carlisle--He did the original version.)
Whiskey Lullaby (Brad Paisley/Allison Krauss)
Here are a few more--
Where Were You (Alan Jackson)
When Love Takes You In (Steven Curtis Chapman)
If You Could See Me Now (Truth)
Go Rest High on that Mountain (Vince Gill)
If Heaven by Andy Griggs
Lyrics:
If Heaven was an hour, it would be twilight,
When the fireflies start their dancin' on the lawn;
An' supper's on the stove and Mamma's laughin',
And everybodys workin' day is done.
If Heaven was a town, it would be my town,
Oh, on a summer day in 1985.
An' everything I wanted was out there waitin',
And everyone I loved was still alive.
Don't cry a tear for me, now, baby;
There comes a time we all must say goodbye.
And if that's what Heaven's made of,
You know, I, I ain't afraid to die.
If Heaven was a pie, it'd be cherry,
So cool and sweet an' heavy on the tongue.
An' just one bite would satisfy your hunger,
An' there'd always be enough for everyone.
If Heaven was a train, it sure would be a fast one,
That could take this weary traveller around the bend.
If Heaven was a tear, it'd be my last one,
An' you'd be in my arms again.
Don't cry a tear for me, now, baby;
There comes a time we all must say goodbye.
And if that's what Heaven's made of,
You know, I, I ain't afraid to die.
Yeah, if that's what Heaven's made of,
You know, I, I ain't afraid to die.
Still Holding out for you By SheDaisy
It reminds me of my Grandpa
Tears In Heaven by Eric Clapton always brings tears to my eyes. I heard it was written in memory of his young son who fell out a wondow to his death. :( :(
Lots of songs! LOL
There's long stories behind why these make me cry, but I'll spare you:
"Piano Man" - Billy Joel
"Dust In The Wind" - Kansas
"One Sweet Day" - Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men
That would be Tim McGraw:DQuote:

And "Blowing in the Wind" by Bob Dylan, which was sung at my brother's funeral by his best friend.
*Twisterdog goes now in search of more tissues*
A lot of very powerful and moving songs listed. I have enjoyed looking at these. An instrumental that will just about always bring tears to my eyes is the main theme song from Schindler's list... the violin solo.
There are many songs listed here that inspire strong emotion in me as well, either due to memories tied to them or just the song itself. Runaway Train, Dust in the Wind, Tears in Heaven.. I used to listen to 'Ordinary World' by Duran Duran when I was in a really down too.
Follow Me - Uncle Cracker
I heard this song as I was bringing my RB Keisha back from the vets after she had passed (we burried her at home).
This phrase right here brings tears to my eyes just reding it right now:(
And that's exactly how I feel now when I think about her.Quote:
you won't find nobody else like me
And this one, it's dedicated to my sweet RB Angus:
Puff Daddy~I'll be missing you
Seems like yesterday we used to rock the show
I laced the track, you locked the flow
So far from hangin on the block for dough
Notorious they got to know that
Life ain't always what it seems to be
Words can't express what you mean to me
Even though you're gone, we still a team
Through your family, I fill your dreams
In the future, can't wait to see
If you open up the gates for me
Reminisce some time, the night they took my friend
Try to black it out, but it plays again
When it's real, feelings hard to conceal
Can't imagine all the pain I feel
I'd give anything to hear half your breath
I know you're living you life -- after death
Every step I take, Every move I make
Every single day, every time I pray -- I'll be missing you
Thinking of the day, when you went away
What a life to take, what a bond to break -- I'll be missing you
It's kinda hard with you not around
Know you in heaven smiling down
Watching us while we pray for you
Every day we pray for you
Til the day we meet again
In my heart is where I'll keep you friend
Memories give me the strength I need to proceed
The strength I need to believe
My thoughts B.I.G. I just can't define
Wish I could turn back the hands of time
Us in the 6th, shopping for new clothes and kicks
You and me taking flicks, making hits
Stages they received you on
I still can't believe you're gone
I'd give anything to hear half your breath
I know your living you life -- after death
Somebody tell me why, on that morning
when this life is over
I know -- I'll see your face
Every night I pray, every step I take
Every move I make, every single day
(repeat 3X)
Every move I make
