I can only imagine Phred wouldbe saying the same thing to all of us. Don't be too sad...He is in a better place. Lungs, kidneys, heart feeling a lot better, feeling young again with his ma and pa and Bowser and Boots, Snoopy and Sherman, Binx, and Smokey and the other "kids" he shared his life with at home or through Pet Talk. Guess God need some more help this Christmas.

I imagine the reunion at the Bridge today would be quite something to behold. I am so sad that he's left us. No one could write a posting like Phred. Dear sir you've been in my thoughts daily and I'm so sad that you're gone.

I am stunned. Phred, your voice on PT will be so greatly missed; the prayer pups line (I know-not spelled the same, please forgive) was an enormous comfort to so many, myself included, when they were so low. I will hold in my heart the vision of you at the Bridge with all the PT pets who, with their families you held dear in times of passing, as well as the PT members who have gone before us. Godspeed dear man; there is undoubtedly a special place held for you. Peace.:love:

I am so sad to be reading of Phred's passing. RIP sweet man, and please give all of our PT RB loved ones who met you at the RB a hug and a kiss from each of us! You will be missed immensely.... more than words can say.

I´m simply speechless.. and in complete shock..

I can´t even express my feelings right now.. I never "met" him but soooo wish I had..

he always had the right words for everyone.. and always there to offer his support.. he will be deeply missed..

I just can´t believe this year´s turn of events.. such a sad last months.. :(

I bet he reunited with Corinna.. and for sure.. for sure.. he went up to my hubs and introduced himself.. I know he did.. ((hugs)).. we´ll miss you

I didn't know Phred, but I am so sorry to hear about his passing.

I just saw this on fb, and came right over. Major LES, we've lost a very special dear man, he was truly one of a kind. He did so much for everyone. I will miss his calls every time he sees we've have a minor catastrophe over here.

Staci, what a great thought! oh my gosh, it must have been a mob scene when he arrived - kind of like at the gate of the Findlay Dog Park at picnics! and just think - they are ALL happy & healthy! Peanut butter biscuits for all!

I'm not very good with words in situations like this....but I wanted to come and pay some last respects to a kind, caring and compassionate man. Phred was one of the very first people that drew me into pettalk. I remember stalking his threads with amusement. He always cared about other people and always looked to show that in practical ways. My heart is aching tonight....life is so short. Rest in peace, Phred!

Your have left a legacy for all of us - your kindness, compassion, generosity, a wonderful sense of humour and an intuitive instinct for all things furry as well as a natural sense of how to help us in our most vulnerable moments. You were a precious friend to so many and will be dearly missed.

RIP Phred. He was one of the very first PTers I'd met, and has always been the backbone of the Findlay events I'd gone to. He called me when I was in the hospital 6 years ago having surgery a few times, he spoke kind words to me a little when Kim and I split up, and I will miss him a lot. :(

Dearest Phred, I did not know you. However after reading all these posts I know a great deal about the type of man you were.
God Speed, may you be resting in Jesus's arms now.

There may not be tears in heaven, but there certainly are here on Earth tonight. Thank you for being you, Phred. You were a gift to countless lives. The world feels emptier tonight with the loss of your voice among us. :(

I can not express how deeply saddened I am to hear of Phreds' (Jon) passing...He was such a Gentle,Kind Soul...I never met him..I spoke with him on the phone..I of course followed all The Adventures of Cinder,Smoke and Boots Da Kat....and who can forget The Great Rescue?? The story of Phred (Unselfishly) driving to West Virginia to rescue Zippys' beloved Bowser...and Keep him...Happy and Healthy till it was his time to go to The Bridge...
There was not a selfish bone in Phreds' body...His love for Animals and People was Larger Than Life...and That is How I Will Always Remember Phred.(Jon)

Oh my. Many hearts are aching right now. I didn't know Phred that well. I know how much he meant to us and how he touched so many lives here at Pet Talk and beyond. He will be sorely missed. I am so sad that he didn't pull through. I guess he was tired and ready to go.

Remember when he tried so hard to help get "Woody" (Jen L's dog) from Texas to Allentown and I volunteered to keep him for a few days? Well, I never told this story, but Phred and I kept calling the airport about Woody's arrival and, I, at least was told the flight was delayed. So, I took my time, just about to leave, when Phred called and said "What are you? An airhead?" Huh? Hey toots, sez I, whatdya mean? Turns out, Phred had much better "connections" than I and it turns out, little Woody was awaiting at the terminal for me!!

He was always my "Toots" and I was his goof.

I'm glad he's not suffering, truly, I am, as are we all, but I can't believe that John is never going to on PT anymore. I feel I lost a family member. I think I've printed out a lot of his posts. They were enthralling and hilarious.

Oh Phred, how we all will miss you! You were a marvellous loving person! Enjoy all the company to meet you at the bridge! You will always live in our hearts.

I am sure Corinna was in line to meet and greet him when he arrived, she still has not been forgotten here and neither will Phred. They will have a lot to catch up on and she can show him where all the PT pets are so he can meet them all and get a wonderful welcome from them.

The last PM I had gotten from him he wanted to know if I still had that Get Well card I made him before when he was in the hospital that time he was so sick from all of us here, that he had lost his and wanted me to send it to him again. That card meant a lot ot him because it was from all of us here. I searched and searched and had to tell him I had deleted it off my own computer and off of my online storage.

Just all of you know, the little effort that was put into that card really meant a lot to him over the years since we did that. I hate that I wasn't up to doing one for him this time.

In a few days, maybe we should start a "Memories of Phred" thread for all of us to share stories and memories of him. Our own Pet Talk Tribute to him.

This will always be a sad day for all of us at PT.:( Even though I never met Phred in person, I was able to talk to him at one of Gini's famous LA BBQ's. It was the year that he sent over the firemen.:) He was the most caring man and a huge part of PT.

Yes, I agree that PT will never be the same again.:( I'm just glad to have gotten to know him. Now he's at peace and I'm sure that all of the animals ran to greet him especially the dogs. RIP dear Phred/John.:( You'll always be missed but will never be forgotten. Some day we will meet. One fine day.

that's a wonderful idea. after I heard, I went back & looked thru pics from the findlay picnics, he always had such a good time there. I would love to post some to a Memorial thread. I'll be watching the board for when it starts.

Well, I was at work when I found out and while I really tried to keep it together (I did too considering I can cry at Hallmark commercials) its all coming loose now.

I will never forget all the wonderful things you have done here on PetTalk. You have touched a many of peoples hearts, and made things happen that only you could do. This goes back for my family and I to the old Lucky and Louie Story, To as recent as Jonny Walker. Its saddens me deeply that you were called home. I do understand God does things the we don't understand, such as taking you from here and bringing you home.
Everyone here has been touched by all the nice things you have done for PT. Phred you always knew what to do and how to go about it. Your journey in this life has come to an end BUT your new journey has just began. You sure will be missed here, but I will be looking forward to the day we meet again. Farewell my friend, our thoughts and Preyer's go out to you and your Faimly.
