I am JUST now seeing this thread! I sure am glad I got here before the deadline! I sent my donation through PayPal! Thank you Karen and Paul for all you have and continue to do for us!
Love,
Kim
I have to admit, I forgot about this and didn't realize there was a deadline... It is a nasty day out so I can't get it mailed today... hope Monday won't be to late!
......It is in my outgoing mail all sealed up!
Whenever you mail it (Post Office is closed Monday for the New Year) will be fine, Laura, we promise! And thanks everyone!
Finally got to the bank today so I'm going to mail you on Tuesday Karen. So sorry for the delay. :o
Happy New Year to all the Pettalk family - especially Karen and Paul (and Miss Hoppy).
Although I've been away for awhile, it was great to see so many familiar names that are giving from the heart.
This special place has helped so many, we're glad we can help in return!
Love and Kitty Kisses from Pam and Noodle
No problem then!! I am most happy I can do something for my favorite forum!!Quote:

I would like to make a donation for the fundraiser but I don't get paid until Jan 12th. How can I do it then?
:) That would be just fine.. Karen & Paul will accept a check mailed to them then & or you can use PayPal..
I think I donated through Amazon.................
I get paid next week. :D Will use Paypal then.
Sent ours! Great Idea and thrilled to help in a small way.
"bump"
I've got mine ready and in an envelope to send on my day off tomorrow. ;)
Karen, do you know what amount has been raised thus far? Are there any non-Pet Talkers contributing?
I don't know the amount, but I do know some non-Pet Talk folks have contributed. Amazon doesn't even let us see what email address anyone donated from, so I cannot check anyone specific, but we have receieved donations through Amazon, as well as PayPal and checks in the mail.
Don't need too much information - but did you get enough to cover the improvements you wanted to make, and maybe a nice lunch for you and Paul (or dinner - and YES, you deserve it!)?
hugs :)
I second this motion!:DQuote:

Amazon doesn't advise you WHO made a donation?? http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/eek.gif
How are you supposed to *acknowledge* donations?
I think most of us would like to know the Total Amount donated and the
Number of Donors who participated.
I don't mind being a repeat donor - but I'd like to know what the average or median
amount donated was.
/s/ Phred
I guess Amazon doesn't expect us to ackowledge donations or something. There isn't any "final total" yet, as we are still getting some donations via snail mail, one yesterday, and another today! I don't know about the electronic ones, Paul keeps track of that.
Karen ~ I had a thought after reading your posting about the banana bread recipe. How about if we organize a Pet of the Day (or Pet Talk) book of recipes?
We submit our favorite recipe(s) with our username and a photo of our pets (or ourselves or whatever) and print up a book. The proceeds of the sales would go to keep the Pet of the Day up and running.
The pet calendar website (I can't remember it off the top of my head) might have a template we can use for organizing and publishing a book.
I regret that I would not be able to volunteer to take this on right now, but with all the talented folks here, there are probably some who have experience in a project like this.
Whatcha think?
Wow! Not a single response? No one interested?Quote:

Edited at 8:00 PM to add: Kuhio98, I think a cookbook would be a terrific idea. My best friend from college did one for her theater group fund-raiser through Morris Publishing. You collect the recipes and submit them to the publishing house, and they turn it into a spiral-bound book.
Donations would be very helpful, as advertising has gone down. Thank you for asking!
It was about 200 people, and totaled just under $2,000.
We are always grateful for your support.
I forgot how to donate? :o Is there a link for paypal somewhere?
The reference to "donating" in the post quoted above brings you to a
Pet Talk page that offers LINKS to donating via PayPal and Amazon ...
Here's that page once again >>>
http://petoftheday.com/fundraiser.html
Karen ~
Can you Verify that those links on that "donating" page are still the correct
links to Pet Talk Fundraiser?
Yes, that page is still correct in terms of ways and links to donate!
;)
Merry New Year, Karen & Paul! :)
There's a few pennies on the way via PayPal.
Let me know that they arrive in the proper account.
{{{Hugs}}} to the Mayor and her Sidey-Kick, Mr. Paul :D
i like to send a check each time....thank you karen...for everything:)
you help sooooo many animals and people more than you know just having this website for support and education and lots more:)
i'm sorry i cannot donate a lot but i 'can' donate and 'will...happily donate' each time.i am so greatful for this site.
thanks again : )
Thanks, both of you. Phred, we'll let you know when it appears!
I need to remember to just send in a donation each year, regardless. This site is so important to me and my "kids". I love sharing stories and reading others stories. Honestly, when I can't check in I begin to panic!!!
Karen, I'm going to send you a check through snail mail this weekend. I hope that's okay. I do not have paypal or anything. It's easier for me to just send a check.
