Slick, I agree with Corinna. If you're coughing especially. My mom - who usually doesn't touch more than a drop of liquor - was coughing a lot after her bypass surgery (over 10 years ago now). She couldn't take all the normal cough medicines because it would have interfered with the heart medications she was taking, so the only thing she found that would subdue the cough is a shot of whiskey! Yes, she had at least one or two shots a day - and this from a woman who drinks soooo rarely! I couldn't believe it but I was there to witness the coughing and then the calm, so now I'm a believer. :D Also, if you look at all the normal cough medicines out there, they're all something like 10% alcohol, so why not go right for the good stuff and forget all the sweet syrupy stuff. ;) :D
Anyway, hope you feel better, and hope Mario doesn't steal anymore posts. Maybe he thought it would make a nice Christmas present for somebody. ;)
Debbie...no coughing....just the "I can't breed" syndrome....(leave it alone guys....:D) When we were moving into this building I was teasing the bosses that I wanted a wetbar. Would have come in handy now. Yeah Mom...you go for it!
LOL I was driving to work this morning and saw a big truck with a sign on it reading "HAZ MATERIALS". I started laughing hysterically and I'm sure those in the next lane were looking at me funny....
I would have been doubled over laughing and have to pull over Slick. :D :) I can't hardly go any where that I don't start giggling becouse it recalls some thing from here. Pet talk has wrecked my life or is it enhanced it? That is the question.
Hi, everyone!
Just a quick stop in. My back is really bad so it's off to bed for me for the afternoon.
Could I get a big cherry vanilla coke? Put it in one of Mario's non spill cups if he'll let me borrow one! I promise to wash it and return it tomorrow!
LH - what a cutie you have! The new little angel arrived just in time for the Holidays!
Mario, keep an eye on everyone and don't forget to be good yourself. Santa is coming soon, you know!:D
Oh Enhanced Corinna!!! You may actually have gone through life convinced you were alone - and all the time there was someone ('s?) out there! ROFLOL!!!Quote:

Ewwwww Connie - you're actually gonna drink out of Mario's cup? Have you seen where he's had that lately? I wouldn't think he'd be too fussed about you having a drink from it!! Have you got some decent pain medication for your back? Hope it improves very soon xxxx.
Slick - yeah!!!! Come over and play!!!!
Lynne
Anybody around??? Could use another HBR please.
Connie, I'm so sorry about your back. Have a good rest and come back for more laughs.
No, I'm not 'around', but I have been accused of being a square..Quote:

West Coast (or should I say "Wet Coast") reporting in. It's been cold, windy and rainy for days now and all I want to do is crawl back into bed...but Thursdays is calling my name. Any pancakes left or did David eat them all? ;) I'm trying to think of some smart "duck" comment but I've only been out of bed for 10 min....let my brain come back to life first.

Although it's pretty obvious that my mind tried to duct the issue because I had to read that twice before I got it - and the second time real slow so it could all sink in. Guess my mind isn't paddling away as well as it should be.
Gawd, get me some coffee or something!
Here's your special coffee Debbie, don't worry about the money... I'll just put it on your bill
Thanks Laurie, got the coffee on my bill.
OK, everybody sing now.....
Rubber Ducky you're the one
You make bathtime lots of fun
Rubber Ducky I'm awfully fond of you
Boo Boo Bee Boop
On that note, I'm getting ready for work. Later.
Oh Laurie, you can't ride a duck! Everybody knows that - they are too fragile.
I have had some coffee but it doesn't seem to be helping!
I'm gone one afternoon and you all QUACK up!!!!!
Mario, here's your cup back. I had it sterilized before I used it and after. So all germs are gone. You need to start collecting them again! :D
Back's better, thanks everyone!
Getting old is not for sissies!:D
This thread left too long will be come sticky when the tape is pulled off.
Connie, isn't it just ducky! (I deserve a groan after that one!). You're right, getting old is not for the faint of heart. I'll be one year older on sunday!

In a software design meeting, we were using typical technical jargon to discuss a data exchange interface with a vendor. One co-worker said the programming we had ordered was delayed because the vendor was suffering from a "severe nonlinear waterfowl issue." Curious, the team leader raised his eyebrows and asked, " What exactly is that?"
The programmer replied, "They don't have their ducks in a row."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
**ducts head and runs out of the bar**
Slick...........that is excellent!
That is exactly what I am suffering from today:D
Slick, I like the guy that asked "What's that?" Seems that most people, not wanting to seem dumb in front of their techie peers, would have just nodded their heads yes and never known exactly what the guy was talking about. ;) The guy had guts to question - just like the guy who asked about digging through the garbage to find armor for their hum v's (just how do you spell hum v anyway? And if it's a hum v, where does "hummer" come in, what about the v? Sooo many questions on a Friday afternoon....)
Anyway, Corinna, you're right, usually with duck tape, if left too long, it will start to quack up and then leave sticky stuff behind which only increases the bill to get it all off.
Gee, it's 12:30 in the afternoon here and I'm not getting any better at this. Maybe I should fly home and duct my head back under the down comforter.
Oh Debbie, how sweet. I never thought of ducks quite like this before. Down comforters...........little ducks that go to your house and comfort you when you are down.
I tell ya the things you learn on this site!
I do love the idea of little down comforters but couldn't it get a little messy if you tucked your head under a duck? Zippy & I know about buns on top of heads but ducks?
I'm NOT even going there......:D :DQuote:

My favorite is the "Metacarpal-Cranial Ballistic Impact" or........
A slap to the head!
Tubby and Peanuts Mom, and anyone else who might be wondering where the term "Hummer" Comes from:
The military has a fondness for acronyms. The original contract nomenclature to the vehicle now know as the Hummer was the "High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle" or HMMWV. this became Humvee, which was later shortned even further to Hummer.
Richard- is the bar going to be open tonight? If so, get the Coffee going, I'll have an Irish coffee, heavy on the Jamesons', short on the coffee.
while we're on the subject of ducks, we've beaten Duct tape to death, but what about duck sauce? Is that the leftover ground duck from making the glue for the Duck tape?
:( :( poor little duckies. I would rather sit around with the darlings and they & I could get sauced together. Let's all get sauced :D
I think that is what you use to make "duck soup"Quote:

Great explanation for what hummer means..........and you expect me to remember that?:D
Yes the bar will be open tonight!
Sorry, didn't mean to jump into your area of expertise...
I heard this one years ago...
A soldier was looking thru a catalogue for a replacement zipper.
Unable to find the appropriate 'fix' for his problem, he approached his platoon leader and explained his problem...There is no zipper under the letter "Z".
The platoon leader explained to him that he wouldn't find it under "Z"- He's have better luck looking under "I".....
Interlocking Slide Fastener!
------------------------------------------
coffee going.....
Short on coffee, High on Jamesons'!!
DONE!
Anyone else?
Wow, has it been this kind of week for everyone??
I thought I was the only one who wanted to go home and hide (I'll do the comforter, but not the duck).
Had a run in with ducks once - never again. Ducks not only quack - they poop - A LOT! And falling in it was not a pleasant experience. The only good thing was I was too drunk to really care. It was a great party!
