So hoping things go well and you can have this done and over with soon. It will be the first day of the rest of your life.
Waiting to hear your good news.
I hope your news is good!
Still waiting.
More prayers, fingers crossed.
Ok. No response from his side in almost a month. So we are proceeding with the previously re-scheduled questioning. It will take place next Friday, February 25th at my lawyer's office Both of us in one day. His lawyer has today to get back to us to get negotiations going otherwise it will proceed to questioning and then court. Something I understood he wanted to avoid. So we'll see where this goes.
Good luck, we'll be thinking of you that day! And when you walk in there, remember, you have hundreds of Pet Talkers behind you, taking your side!
Thanks Karen and Wom. Appreciate the support.
Late letter from HIS side. They are going to provide a response to our settlement proposal by the end of this week. More waiting, but maybe it will be good and then things can be over.
Prayers for a good (or tolerable) outcome...lots of {{{hugs}}}
Sounds like they are just trying to wear you down so you will settle for anything - just to get it over with.
Stay firm - two years from now you won't be able to do anything about this.............so you can wait another week - look how long it has been already.
Prayers and cuddles and encouragement for you......................!!!!
{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}} and ~~~~~~PURRS~~~~~~ and lots of prayers for you, that you stay strong, and that this works out the best possible way it can for you and you can finally put it behind you!

In case anyone was wondering, there is no settlement today. There was nothing forthcoming to my lawyer before noon today and then their office closed for the long weekend. So even if something was sent I will not receive word of it until Tuesday. I do not anticipate the questioning next Friday will go ahead. So again it is more hurry up and wait. That's ok though, I have loads of patience and I will see this thru to the end. Thanks again all for your support.
Okay! Enjoy the long weekend, we'll be thinking of you hoping for good news Tuesday! But why is it a long weekend for you folks? We have a long weekend for Presidents' Day - George Washington's birthday is actually Tuesday, but it also celebrates Abraham Lincoln' birthday, which was the 12th - but they were American Presidents ...
This is what they lovingly refer to as the FAMILY DAY WEEKEND. Theoretically you're supposed to be doing something with your family on Monday. As I recall it's because a number of years back our Provincial Premier's son got into trouble with drugs and died. Something along those lines anyway. So the day was set aside to promote the FAMILY UNIT.
What a long ordeal this is for you Gayle. Wishing you all the best.
Thank you.:love: It's going on and on and on.
The questioning was rescheduled again to March 14th, at my demand. His side is apparently working on a reply to our settlement proposal and wanted more time. I want to keep the questioning on the table so they continue to make progress. So more hurry up and wait. Which is OK I guess, it's too cold and snowy to buy a house right now anyway. Always looking at the bright side!:D
That a girl. This is hard on you but it must be hell on him. :D
Continued prayers and a candle,

Give nothing away mate. Just hang in there and don't ever let them wear you down. ;)
Lets all just hope that you can be out of this mess soon.
Thinking of you, Gayle.
Light at the end of the tunnel....keep thinking......
Sending you good wishes and love, Gayle..

To update everyone, there has still been no response from his side, so my lawyer, tired of the waiting game, is sending a letter today to demand we proceed with the questioning on Monday, March 14th. Enough is enough already. We're ready to take this to a judge and be done. I will be sitting with her tomorrow afternoon so she can prepare me for the questions. I wish someone could prepare me to be in the same room with this monster! That's going to be the hard part. I know you all will be behind me though so I will stand tall (as tall as a 5 foot nothing girl can) and strong. So they can either provide a response immediately or we forge ahead. We'll see how it shakes out.
Okay, it's not the size that counts, it's the size of the attitude that counts! I have gotten through various situations in life that people couldn't believe I did unscathed, and I would explain, "Hey, I may just be 5'6" but I think I'm 6'2"! I inherited Dad's attitude, just not the height to back it up."
So for that day, I am officially loaning you my Tall, Strong and Fearless attitude, okay? And another tip - a low, deep growl is completely unexpected from a little white girl. Scared the bejesus outta folks when they were not expecting it. I explained to one person - "hey, my German Shepherd helped raise me. Of course I growl like a big dog!"
So let me know what time I should be meek that day, and what hours, so you can use my whole attitude for your own! I'd send you my "lions, tigers and leopards" jacket if we had time, it's the fiercest article of clothing I own!
Sorry I can't be with you in person, but I'm there in spirit!
Gayle, I can understand you being scared...but I think you could call up a good fit of anger as this jerk has likely played games with his lawyer and has held up the proceedings. I can just see you going into that questioning room and giving him the biggest raspberry ever!:D
(I don't think giant baseball bats are allowed in the room, are they? ;):D )
Wear leopard underwear and really long nails....there ya go!
Hold you head high.. You are WOMAN, LET HIM HEAR YOU ROAR!!!
Remember these few things..
1- The hard part is already behind you... (You put up with that jerk for how many years and survived? This'll be a piece of cake!)
2- DON'T PLAY HIS GAME IN COURT! (meaning, he will be trying to push any and every button of yours that he can, it ONLY works if YOU let it! DON'T LET HIM!!!)... if you change the rules of his game, he looses control!
3- Smile like you know something he don't know (That'll make HIM nervous!) and keep that smile on your face the whole time. Draw a smiley face in your hand to remind you to smile. SMILE WITH CONFIDENCE!!! WALK WITH CONFIDENCE! SIT WITH CONFIDENCE! SPEAK WITH CONFIDENCE! (Always SMILE before you speak!!!)
4- Remember- You ARE worthy!! You ARE unique! You ARE better than he is! and most of all you ARE better off without him!
What a lovely gift Laura has given you - great advice. I can only
add an Eleanor Roosevelt quote "no one can make you feel inferior without your consent"
All of us are behind you - this will soon be over and you can celebrate the beginning of the rest of your life!
( Oh, if you really need something to make to smile in court, just look at him and remember what my Mama use to say.... THAT saying right there has pulled me through so many rough spots with a smile on my face that puzzled everybody else when I should have been fuming I was smiling.)Quote:
"IT'S OK TO BE STUPID! YA JUST SHOULDN'T OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND LET THE REST OF THE WORLD KNOW IT!".
Or, picture me there just walking past and growling at him in my best German shepherd growl ... That'll give you a grin!
Gayle, we're all with you in that courtroom.. including felines, canines, whatever-ines!
OMG, between Laura and Karen he doesn't stand a chance! :D
Thank you ALL so very, very much. Your support and advice are so truly appreciated.:love:
Had my prep yesterday, the questioning will proceed Monday. Unless, in the next 2 days they come up with a full and proper settlement. If he fails to show for the questioning things will escalate very quickly, much to his displeasure I'm sure. The time for being nice and patient has passed. My lady lawyer is like a dog that's been teased long enough by the bone just out of her reach, she's ready to get busy.
The stress is wreaking havoc on my IBS. But I keep telling myself, it's almost over, it's almost over.
Hang on Gayle-
Calming thoughts for Monday coming at you.
Think of us, because we'll be with you in spirit.
Rose
Yes, it's almost over - and think of what will begin after that! YOUR LIFE. :D
You have talked about your lawyer a few times - and I think you've got the best. I would love to see what happens if the ex is a no-show and she gets to unleash everything on him!:D
Just answer the questions and let your legal dragon do the work! :)
As I predicted, there will be no questioning on Monday, March 14th. He is unavailable. Look out buddy, now my lawyer is crabby!!! Will provide more info as I find out where we go from here.
What a surprise - NOT! Does he really think he can get away with sliming out of this?
What a COWARD! :D He's running, Gayle! He is a scared guy and thinking he can get away with not showing.
I wonder if a warrant for his arrest can actually be issued...
HUGS! Hang tight.
