Better news than expected, for sure! :-)
I hope Coop gets a gifted physiotherapist, who can really work wonders! That acupuncture sounds like it has worked for a few people, too.

I am so sorry to hear of your husband's back issues. I know how this can effect the whole family and bring much stress.
But from reading the other posts I also see that he is doing better and I too would like to add my best wishes for him and your entire family at this most difficult time.
More prayers being offered for your husband. I cannot imagine being in constant pain.
Recently I have been receiving acupuncture for a different condition and I have noticed some improvement.
However, I understand that for pain management it is wonderful. Good wishes for you all - blessings to come.
I'll keep saying prays! I hope PT can help.

Update!
Physical Therapy began this week. There was an hour and a half evaluation on Monday, and yesterday they "put him in traction". He explained this to me but I would never do it justice. He was in a traction type system, but it also involved a heat/steam therapy at the same time, some stretching and proper positioning. It already seems to be helping and has put Coop in a much better frame of mind. Thanks for the prayers - we seem to be in a good place! :)
GREAT news! I am so glad to hear that Coop feels better already. He (and you) must be SO relieved.:)
Hopefully the repositioning and changes in posture will get him back to feeling 100%!
Thanks for the update Maggie. This is great news.:)
That's great news!
Prayers continue for Coop and you both.
Excellent! Glad the traction is helpful mentally as well as physically.
He did something this morning I have not heard him do in quite some time - he sang in the shower! :D It was a wonderful sound!! :D:love:
Yay!Quote:
he sang in the shower!

UPDATE:
Coop is calling the surgeon tomorrow; he can barely move. He will have the decompression surgery. The question is now when. Prayers, please! :( It looks like Pinot has another patient coming.
I'm so sorry to hear this, Maggie. You and Coop are very much in my prayers.
Oh, I am so sorry, Maggie.
Prayers and good wishes and healing energies and gentle {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for Coop, and for you and Pinot too.
Oh poor Coop! I do hope he gets to feel better very soon!
Oh dear. I shall start praying for a positive post surgery result! And with Pinot on the job, that should be the outcome.
I'm sorry to hear this. Pawsitive thoughts for surgery and a quick recovery!
Hi Maggie... Sorry I missed this until now.
Tell Coop we are pulling and praying for him. Tell him he NEEDS to get better. He has to run the grill at the yearly get together. :)
Oh Maggie, so sorry to be reading this. Please tell Coop he is in our thoughts and prayers. Many hugs to you both!
Prayers going out to Coop, hoping that he will be back to "normal" really soon. Just got out of the hospital this a.m. with the same surgery, and now should be on my way to complete recovery. I've already noticed the lack of the pain in my hip and leg, so something is going right already. All that I have now, is just pain from the incision, and that should be fading fast! Thank God for small miracles. :p :D Not too long before I'll be doing the jig ;)
Prayers flying from me for you and Coop. The cats are sending their sweetest kisses to you both too.
I hope Coop gets his surgery soon and recovers completely. Pomtzu, that is so great that you have pain relief already. Prayers that Coop has the same!:love:
I had spinal surgery back in 1983. The pain was gone when I woke from anesthesia. And it has never come back.
Prayers for a speedy surgery and recovery for Coop
When your loved one is in pain you feel it too, good thoughts & prayers sent to you & your hubby.
Hope all goes well for Coop.
Paws crossed for him here downunder.
Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. I am just so worried; for Coop to show any pain means he's in such distress.
I had a spinal lamenectomy (sp) in Jan 2005, on my L4-5 and it gave me instant relief, unlike I had known in over 30 years, despite morphine and so many other narcotics. I still say it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Due to a congenital defect, I'll also need surgery on the L3-4 (above the first surgery) but, I'll be so happy to be relieved. Spinal stenosis sucks. It didn't seem long until I was able to do more activities than I had in all those years. I hope and pray that Coop will feel like his old self again (sing in that shower Man!). He has 2 wonderful nurses.
Sorry I didn't reply to this thread sooner. Surgery sucks in any case, but hey, if it relieves him even a little it's for the best. I'm sorry you have to deal with this now, especially so close to the holidays. I'll be thinking of you and your husband.
Maggie, I sure hope that Coops surgery will go well. Lots of prayers and positive thoughts are being sent his way.
Hoping he can get the relief he so needs soon. Hugs all around.
I am just now seeing this. Your first entry broke my heart. I hope you're both blessed with a successful surgery. May happiness enter your life again soon.
Just back from the specialist. Surgery scheduled for 12/23.
I will keep him in my prayers that he goes through surgery like a trooper, recovers and is back home in no time. You take care of yourself too!
It's good news that a date has been set in the near future.
Wishing all goes well for Coop.
Prayers for you and Coop!!! Hopefully he will have a Christmas with lots less pain.:love:
Prayers going up for Coop and for you. Keep the faythe. :)
