Kim - the edge is some piping that comes in packages at the sewing store. It is really not hard at all - sew it on with a zipper foot - and I think it makes the pillows look very *finished* - it is about as difficult as a zipper:)
I got crafty again last night and this is what I made!! I need to decide how to finish these guys - they might make an oblong pillow if I add border and put them together facing each other as they are right now.....or they might make two separate pillows for gifts;) I am thinking that a muslin ruffle might be pretty!!!

OK, I turned ONE of them into a pillow and here it is...

The next one I think I will try the muslin ruffle. I HATE making ruffles but we will see how it goes;)
Anyone else doing kitty crafts??? I would love to see them - crafts, beds, shelter quilts???:D
:( What happened? Are you sure you are not just being too critical?? Can you post a picture and maybe one of us can help?? Don't give up!!! This quilt block IS a pretty advanced project supposedly - so if you don't want to keep working on it - please don't feel bad. Have you thought of doing some shelter quilts?? I made some pictures and directions here.Quote:

Oh, did you sew the whole thing on the fabric with stripes, or did you just add a border? And what about the back side?
And... I also do not understand the info about the ears and legs...:o
Lut, the piping is fabric sewn around a cord with an edge left for stitching. I buy it in cellophane packages with sewing notions like rickrack, seam binding, bias tape, etc. It might be called covered cord or something like that?Quote:

The striped fabric is made from strips I cut that are about as wide as three of my fingeres - sewn first to the sides and then longer strips on the top and bottom. I used muslin for the backing - the same as the background that the kitty is sewn with. I love to use muslin because it looks so homespun and is VERY inexpensive.
hmmm...not sure what you mean about the feet and ears?? Do kou have the directions Lut?? Look under the alphabetical listing - this one is called Wild Cat. The feet are just three squares stitched together in a row. The ears are two squares placed together, sewn diagonally and then pressed open to show two triangles - one of muslin and one of the print.
Did I answer what you were asking?:)
Really cute. I love the fabrics and colors you used.
Oops :o , my English is abandoning me.... ; I really don't understand what you say.But never mind, I will find out the hard way ;) .Quote:
