Thanks everyone and thanks shady for the good advice I am glad I took her in right away....the fluids may be what gets her through the night. Your story is encouraging I would love to get some more time with her and she definetely deserves our best shot at that.

I am praying for you, I hope gigi feels better. Lots of kitty prayers coming your way!

I'm so sorry to hear about Gigi.:( At least now you know what's wrong with her. Hopefully the treatment will be able to buy her some more time with you. Prayers and positive thoughts are being sent your way. Please take care.

I just posted this whole thing and somehow lost it ...so here I go again.
This has been a tearful morning. Gigi's blood work showed cancer so an xray was done, the cancer was all over. Last night I tried to tempt her into drinking and she could not swallow. I had to make a hard decision, in my 43 years this is the first time I felt "grown up", it was awful. If I would have taken her home she basically would have starved.
Its hard to believe this is the same cat who was fine earlier this week, or at least she acted fine. what a brave girl you were my sweet baby...rip.

Oh I'm so very sorry. I'm sure that decision was hard but definitely the right one. Gigi is now pain free.
(((HUGS))) to you.
Rest in Peace sweet Gigi.

Thanks...I am really worried about my daughter...I tried to tell her last night that if things didn't look good I wouldn't want to try to go through the weekend with her not drinking. This morning she got on the school bus in tears. She is 12 and wants to be a vet when she grows up she absolutely adores animals. I have had gigi longer than her so she has never known a home without her.
-
I am so sorry for your loss.
I hope your daughter will be okay...
RIP beautiful Gigi.

I'm so sorry Gigi didn't make it. I had to make the same decision with my Keke 11 years ago--no clue she had cancer until it was too bad to treat.
-
My heart goes out to you.
The only thing I can suggest is that you take solace in the time you've had with gigi, cherish your memories and the fact that you did have her for all those wonderful years, in that she is no longer in pain or discomfort.
I know it isnt easy, it's one of the most difficult things I have ever had to do, but all in all it's done for them not us.
RIP gigi, the Rainbow Bridge is waiting.

RIP Gigi, wait for mommy at the RB.
