Thursday #84!!!

Hmmmmm, 1984. I was working for an Advertising Agency at the time and living in sin....:eek: :eek:
Every Friday at work we had to make a "beer run" and since the liquor store was only a block away, we would load up the empty cases on a dolley and wheel it up the street, turn in the empties, load up with full cases and off we would go again. From 4pm to ??? we would all sit in the bosses office and partee. He had a piano in his office and could caress those ivory keys like nobody's business. After awhile, my then-BF got a bit disgusted because he had to come and pick me up from work and drive me home. I think he was just jealous. Three years later we parted for good.

So in memory of 1984, I'll take a nikked beer please.

I can't believe I'm 40 :( Twenty years ago I had just been dispatching about 1 1/2 years. Hadn't gotten Flair yet(He just now turned 20) It's been so long that I've just about forgotten what it was like to be young and carefree. I know I did go to a lot of good parties. The police really know how to throw some good ones. We're having one this Saturday. I haven't been to a good party in a while so it should be fun. I've got a Santa hat with stars on it that light up. Looking forward to it.

As an aficionado of really crappy movies, I have to tell you that there is nothing more satisfying than seeing something in an old
Sci Fi flick that mom used or had in her kitchen at home....

I do remember on really stupid movie where some aliens came out with a pistol and started to blow up things with it!!!! It was a popular toy pistol years ago.....the company that made it was Whamo and I think the gun was called an Air Blaster.......You cocked the lever and it shot out a puff of air........It was completely useless past 20 feet, but you HAD to have one for Xmas......

One thing that you learned pretty quickly was that if you filled the muzzle with dirt the first shot produced a spectacular puff of dust and rocks....by the second shot it was pretty well wrecked.....;)

Then you hid it from mom and dad becuase they'd go "gladiator"
on your arse for breaking it......

I would take vacations and go work odd jobs to earn even MORE MONEY....I worked at a bicycle/moped warehouse.......The guys put together a 50cc motocrosser and we would ride that thing all around the warehouse with the sole purpose of trying to rip our pinkies off on the bicycle box corners......:rolleyes:

I never said I was smart, did I????

Almost out of here.....anymore drink orders??

MMMMM 20 years ago I was 23 A 3yr old daughter, and 1 yr old boy. I was learning to can for His allergys. Living in a horrable house in Linden (a dutch reform town ) every thing closed at 5pm friday till 8 am monday. No dancing and it was a dry town. I was a stay at home mom (the only one in the development(:( ) so you know where all the kids were. Hubby was working 60hrs a week I was too far from my folks. A very isoltaed time no car.
Yuck I think I need a HBR for all those horriable thoughts.

20 years ago, I was on my first job after college, and preparing for my wedding (the first one). I got married, for the first time, on Dec. 29. This year (2004) would have made 20 years. It didn't go that far, unfortunately. Ended in 1993, instead. But life is MUCH better now. So I'm ready to celebrate. I have a 2nd anniverary on the 21st of this month with my "new" husband, Scott.

I'll take Champagne, bartender!!! :)

Wow, sounds like so many of us wouldn't want to go back 20 years if they paid us to! I guess what this means is we all lived and learned and we're now much better people because of the lessons we learned then - thank God! :D

Drinks are on me bartender! Oh bartender....Ri-chard...yoo hoo...oh well, since drinks are on me I'll guess I'll get them for everybody too. Champagne for Logan, anybody else? Hey Slick, you out there? Peanut is snoring up a storm as she sits on the back of the couch overlooking my typing. For some reason this made me think of you. ;) Probably because I know you would give just about anything to be sitting here hearing her snore for yourself. :D Sending soft sweet Peanut snores your way. :D Tubby's being awful quiet tonight. No snores from his side of the room....yet.

Aahhh....this fire feels good on the old bones (mine that is). I think I'll just take myself a nekkid beer and curl up here by the fire. Where's Mario? He's been pretty quiet today. He's kind of old himself, isn't he? Maybe he has some memories to share. With his circus going wife?

Lets see!
I was working for the DMV back then, married, lived
in a bad neighborhood while saving up for our house.
Had two wonderful dogs. My parents,
and grandparents were alive and well.
I was a lot younger and thinner too. :)

It has been a long day, so I came here to unwind.

Now let me get this straight............you guys are talking about a complicated - old fashioned - 50 foot woman RIGHT???

But according to Debbie she is a bit muddled.

I think my head hurts.........so I will go home and go to bed.
