Poor baby Hannah! I was sitting here at the computer saying "Oh my goodness! Poor Hannah. :(" With my mouth wide open. I hope she's alright. I'm sure everything will be okey, though. You, Hannah, and Tucker will be in my thoughts and prayers. Feel better, baby Hannah. We all love you! :) I hope you feel better.
Hugs & kisses,
LabLover & Sadie :)

Rachel,
I'm glad the Doc has gotten the vomiting &
diarhea under control. That is some progress!
One time Buddy snatched up and swallowed
some dead "something" from the yard before
I could say 'leave it'.(Not sure if it was a bird or mouse)He became very, very sick for
about a week.(projectile diarhea & vomiting). Never was that ill before or since. Bud was treated with antibiotics and
did improve, but still didn't eat for several
days afterward. It is so scary when our
furbabies feel SO bad and we can't make it
better sooner. Have you decided if you will
go visit Hannah tomorrow? Tough decision!!
Maybe you & your husband can go and just view
her from another room just to reassure
yourselves that Hannah is doing her part by
resting quitely and doesn't look scared.
Continued prayers for Hannah tonight!!!

Rachel, I guess your vet is still working on what's making Hannah so ill. On the slim chance that it turns into pancreatitis, don't despair. Our sheltie, Danny, first got pancreatitis years ago (he's 15 now). It made him very sick on the 3 occasions he's had it severely, but it has proven to be very manageable with diet. He's stayed well for a long time now.

Ok, Ok, I feel like a total schmoe now..First Cody, now Hannah and although I knew, I didn't read PT for 4 days and I can kick myself cause I feel so awful for my belated thoughts to you! :(
Poor Hannah-banana.....Poor Rachel!! I KNOWyou're going crazy and I feel your concern and worry! Thank God you have a fantastic vet who understands YOU so well and is paying special attention to Hannah! Poor sweeties (both of you) .. I hope by now you have results so you can get to the bottom of this once and for all. I swear I am praying like a maniac that all goes well and that Hannah is back in your arms, safe and sound SOON! You know how much I love you!
-
Rachel, you poor thing! You must be so worried. Stay strong for Tucker, okay? And don't you worry about Hannah. She is in the best of hands, and I have a feeling that this will not be anything serious. With all of us Pet Talkers praying our heads off, it can't possibly be anything bad! :) Please let us know as soon as you hear anything. We love you guys, and we're worried too!

Dr. Sage called this morning. He gave me the good news first, her temperature has dropped a degree and she still has good color and alertness. Then he dropped the bomb, her liver enzymes are highly elevated...ALT and AST and an elevated bilirubin. Her white blood cell counts are elevated. I asked him how high the liver enzymes were, and he said not to panic but they were greater than 2000. Then he went on to say this cause could be the bacterial infection could be in her blood stream or a chronic active hepitisis or a problem that cocker spaniels get which has something to do with copper metabolism. He has added another antibiotic and he is going to try to give her some water today to see how she handles it. As far as visiting goes, we could, but he thought is might be stressful for her when we left so he advised against it. The next thing he wants to do is an ultra sound of the liver. He will call to let me know how she does today. I guess part of obtaining an diagnosis is going to be how she responds over the next couple days. Needless to say, I am just numb. Thank you all for your messages. They mean the world to me. Love your sweet fur babies and don't put off doing something special for them, a walk...some time playing ball...whatever.

Rachel,
I couldn't get home from church quickly enough to see if you had posted a message. Bless your heart, I know you are worried. I know nothing about any of the symptoms you have discussed, but I'm sure some of our "liver" experts, Sandra, Sue, etc. will be able to chime in and give you some solid understanding of what is happening.
Hang in there. Know that all paws (and that's a lot) are crossed, and Helen and I will continue to hold Hannah up in our prayers. :)
We love you.
Logan

Rachel thank you for keeping us up to date. I know this waiting is so hard for you and maybe just being able to post and "talk about it" and keep us up to date is helping pass the time. I, like Logan, was in a bit of a hurry to get home from church today and have been checking Pet Talk and waiting for some word. I know how upset I feel and can't even begin to imagine what you are feeling right now. Being separated from Hannah for a period of days (as it looks now) is awful enough in itself but to know your sweetie is not feeling well and the blood work has not come back as we had wished is, I am sure, making this separation intolerable. I wish I lived closer so I could give you a great big hug. I am counting on hubby to do that for me. Please feel free to come to this board even if only to share concerns, ask for prayers, whatever! We are here for you Rachel and sweet little Hannah. We love you both!
-
Rachel, I'm am so sorry to here that Hannah's problems may be more complicated than expected. The bright light is that she is with a vet who obviously cares about her and will do everything he can to alleviate the problem!
I will pray that further testing finds an easy-to-cure problem, and that she is perfectly healthy and back in your arms within a couple of days!

Oh, Hannah-banana, you gotta be scared
But you're only in the whitecoat's house
Because your Momma cared
Now, we know you're feeling poorly, kid,
And home seems far away
But we're sending our our thoughts and prayers
To help you get better and better each day.
Oh, Hannah-banana, be brave and strong
Be a good girl, baby,
And you'll be home before long
Momma misses you, and your fur-friends too, are sad
But try to get better, don't bite the white-coats
And when you're back and bouncy, we'll all (even Tucker) be glad!

Rachel:
So sorry to learn only now that your baby girl is sick :( I hope the vet can find out soon what is wrong with her and make her well again. Hang in there! We have all gone through this experience of waiting for news from a vet and know how you feel. We are thinking about you and send you and the beautiful Hannah much love and best wishes for a quick recovery.
