I'm bringing Puddy home. Again.
Dr. Lee just called me cuz he says they're crazy busy and he wanted to answer my questions so that I didn't have to make an appt. w/him. Here's the scoop: Puddy is anemic, she has cystitis and her creatinine level is 5.something. He says that level isn't "bad" per se but he'd like it to be lower because she's operating on only one kidney. He hopes that this kidney isn't going to give out. BUT he said that all in all he's pleased w/how well she's doing. She goes back on subQ's every day again until we see how she's doing. And she has to take Levaquin (sp?), which is a powerful antibiotic and pain meds. If she remains too anemic, he'll start her on shots. Sigh. Poor little girl. I don't want to keep pumping her full of meds and poking her w/needles. But as long as I see she's Puddy, I'll do it. If I see she's suffering or just plain miserable, I'll have to help her in another way. But I'm going to keep a positive attitude and be glad that she can come home. We'll just take it on a day to day basis.
I'm off to go get her. I'll post when I get home and let you all know how she is.
Blessings,
Mary
