He's big - around 50 or 60 lbs i guessed.

I think he is bigger than that. He is just a mutt, though.
He was a purebred Picardy shepherd I believe.
Not sure what breed he was but I love that movie!!!
Yes he is a Picardy Shepherd. They are a rare breed & are not for everyone. Don't let the movie fool you. lol They are great dogs don't get me wrong but they need a very experienced owner.Quote:

I LOVE the movie. When it first came out I was intrigued by the dog, as the appearence is awesome! I've always wanted a wirey haired bigger dog that looks like that... always. So I did some research on the net about it, this is a good site for facts about animals on movies & the such.
