Question about Splinter

My hedgie girl Splinter has been sneezing lately, and she has had discharge from her nose off and on all day. Could it be a mere cold and let it pass on its own, should I take her to a vet, or what should I do for her? I am so confused. I told my parents, and they told me to really watch her for any signs of illness.
What confuses me is her personality has not changed at all :confused: If she were sick, wouldn't she act less active?
