The babies are doing really well. They are now two days old and growing fast. I *think* the two darkies may be Russian blues so I am keeping my fingers crossed! :D

That is my Downunder boy. Only a handful of breeders have these rats, and I am one of them. The mutation originated in Australia, hence the term Downunder. Unlike any other species of rodent on earth, they have a double pattern. They have a marking on top and also have a marking on their belly as well in the white. These rats were imported into the US just about two years ago and we are still learning much about the gene.
