The Easter bunny brought me an early preent...

KITTENS!!!

On Wednesday I took a VERY pregnant orange and white female, Topaz, off our rescue line. She looked ready to pop ANY minute! I had several large carriers with bedding (they make first rate kitten caves) and she was performing quality control on each.:) I knew from this nesting behavior kittens weren't far behind.

This morning (her room is across the hall from mine) I was half asleep and thought I heard that distinctive newborn squeaky meow. I JUMPED out of bed and *quietly* opened the door. In the vary Largest, best padded carrier was Topaz, with a very smug look on her face, and a tiny head peeked up. There were at least 3 back there (she had her back to the audience.):p

They were clearly nursing, and I could see her grooming them. I think there may be more coming.

I'll have pics but not until everyone is settled down.

I'm sitting here Awwing at the monitor - just the thought of newborn kittens at Easter makes me Aw! Can't wait for pictures! Congratulations to Topaz the new mommy!

This is exciting!! Easter kittens! I can't wait to see pictures of beautiful Topaz and her babies.

Kitten update: Topaz finally let me see them. Four living kittens, one born dead. I didn't see anything wrong with it; this seems to be common for strays. You can have any color you want, as long as it's orange!:D

AWWWWW. What sweet little orangie muffins.

Wow, even momma's an orangie, that's rare isn't it? I think I see a baby Tinky and Jupiter there. Jupiter right in front and Tinky off to the side (a little muted orangie).

Awwww......

AWWWW look at those little orange bundles of fur!!!! I'd take all the kittens if I could.
