I gotta say best wishes to the Duggar family. They are debt free, and they arent Octomom nuts.
I figured they'd have more, even after a grandchild. It's not weird to me because I have something similar in my own family.
My cousin's daughter is 11 years older than her uncle and 14 years older than her aunt.
As long as the parents are supporting their family - not relying on the taxpayers to support them - then I guess it's their business. I personally would rather be dipped in honey and staked naked on a fire ant hill then even contemplate for one nanosecond having that many children. But maybe it's just me.

Having that many kids certainly can't be very good for the body. I never watch the show. Has anyone ever heard why they choose to keep having children? I personally think they're insane. Just because it's possible to do something, doesn't mean that you have to do it. I don't get it!!! :(
I haven't watched the show in awhile but I think she said she'd keep having children as long as God blessed her with the ability to do so. I guess it does get easier once the older children can help care for the younger ones.
I'll admit it....I do watch the show. When Michelle and Jim Bob first married they were using birth control. I believe after her first or second pregnancy she had a miscarriage. And they believe it was due to the birth control and chose to not take it anymore. Yes, they say if its God will to have children they will continue to do so. And all the children (at least the ones old enough to understand) believe the same thing.Quote:

I've never watched the show so I'm asking in complete innocence: how do they support this family, in these hard financial times especially, but at any time? Why are they not criticized, as Jon and Kate have been, for exposing their kids to the media? Or have they been and I just am unaware of it? And most important of all, how do they manage to give each child individual attention? Again, I am not criticizing them, just asking serious questions. :confused:

:D It's not just you, and I agree, it's their business....HOWEVER, when you put yourself in the public eye, as apparently they've done with a show I didn't know existed, you better have morals and values of steel in order to keep them intact under that kind of self imposed scrutiny.Quote:

There was one family with 22 (granted, the first 16 were one wife, and the other 6 were the second, but still!), and they actually lived in two houses. Of my friends, there were families with 8, 16, 17, 9...they wondered what was wrong with us because there were only 4! The difference is, they weren't on TV.
If they want to have all those kids, fine, but they're doing it on TV, so they'll get a lot of crticism.
