It is just so scary. First it is just some wet food makers...then the list expanded, now Hill's DRY is added to the situation.

Thanks for the info. This is horrible. When will it end.:( Starr has just started eating the Hills Prescription Z/D diet and so far it's working for him. I'd hate to find out that it too has been recalled.:(
My guys are on the C/D. I am a nervous wreck.
Recall
This thread is about same thing only in "cat general"
I found the link www.petconnection.com to be pretty helpful.
This whole this is starting to p-i-s-s me off. The FDA really needs to get more involved in the pet food industry and start regulating it more. Does anyone know of a petition going around in regards to the pet food recall?
Cataholic - my Smudge eats c/d too. I see it as good news that Hill's has looked through their supply records and checked, as some other companies might not have.Quote:

I don't know about anyone else but this whole thing seems very weird to me. How is this all happening "unintentionally" supposedly? Why is it happening at all?? Is anything safe anymore? :(
Felix is on Hill's Perscription C/D I am also very concerned.
Here is what I found

I was waiting for this. There is no way a company would use wheat glutten in one food and not the others. I'm sure the dry just takes longer to poison the animals.
Ugh...this is sooooo terrible!!!!! :( :(
But...here I am with my silver-lining...while its HORRIBLE and SAD that any furballs are getting sick, I think this situation will help A LOT in making new legislation in regards to our animals.
In California, the only thing these companies will be liable for is the 'value' of the pet - as in, if you bought cute little Scruffy from the shelter for an adoption fee of $55.00, that's ALL these companies have to pay you!!! Even if Scruffy was a prize-winning purebreed with papers - what you paid for him is ALL they legally have to pay you!!!! (granted, there's always small claims court, but still...you never know)
Maybe all these terrible things will lead to changes...one can only hope.
I hope and pray this will be the END of further recalls. Hopefully no more foods hurt our fuzzies. :(
Well, the law in RI changed a few years back. You are NOT a pet owner. You are a pet GUARDIAN. Makes all the difference in law suits.
THey are also recalling several treat items as well =/

jerky treats, etc.
