Calling all Kitties: St. Patrick's Day celebration in Chicago

Dear Kitties, we are sorry for the short notice. But -- if Pinot and Groucho would fire up the Catmobile, we would like you to come here to Chicago next weekend for the big St. Pat's festivities. On Saturday, March 14th they dye the Chicago River green and there is the big parade in the Loop. Then on Sunday, March 15th the South Side Irish Parade which is more family-centered. Here is a lesson on how to pronounce it like a true Chicagoan.
South = "sout" (leave off the h)
Side Irish
Parade = "prayed" (one syllable)
"Are ya goin to da Sout Side Irish prayed?" "Yep, we're takin da grandkids. I hope da wedder's good."

Hi Miss Cassiesmom and Cassie!
Wow, this sounds like so much fun, I've never seen a green river before! I already called the local Jaguar dealer, the eco-friendly hybrid Catmobile will be ready Wednesday night for a Thursday morning take-off to Chicago. There will be plenty of corned beef & cabbage along with fresh Irish soda bread on board for everyone!

Okay fellow kitties, if you're coming Pinot and I need to know right away so our trip can be mapped out. Everyone will have a ride and nobody will be left behind.

Now to invite my lovely Inka, contact Pinot, and make sure all kitties know about the trip. Pinot and I will keep you updated, stay tuned to this thread!

OK, Kitties, Mom's back in town, so I have access to the keyboard again - this was a close one! She told me I had to lay low for a while after Mardi Gras, but my wonderful catsitter talked her into it! :)

We're on short notice - Groucho and I need to know ASAP! The Catmobile leaves Thursday morning - check in Kitties!! If you don't make the cut off, let us know by cell phone and we'll re-route the Catmobile. It will be wonderful to see my sweetheart and the lvpets crew (:love:) along with everyone else that can make it!!

We hit the road tomorrow morning, the route is set; we'll be picking up the lvpets crew (my sweetheart Raco), Fister, the Found Cats, the Phesina babies (Sparkler, you'll be well taken care of), and, we're assuming, Lily, Elmer & Honeybun (since their sweethearts have requested their presence :love:). We'll all meet in Chicago with Groucho, Cassie, Edwina & Eddie.
If anyone hasn't checked in, no problem, give us a call and we'll route to accomodate! No planes necessary this time; the Catmobile is equipped with the magic of a Leprechaun kitty!

The Catmobile is here and is being loaded up for our trip as we meow. As always, our friend and capable co-pilot Pinot has our route well planned. Be sure to keep your cell phones on so we can call you when we reach your neighborhood. If there are any kitties who want to go but haven't checked in, call Pinot or myself and we'll pick you up. The corned beef and cabbage is ready and smells great, the Irish Soda bread will be delivered very early in the morning. Okay, let's get some sleep since we have a big weekend coming up!

Groucho checked in rather late last night and all is well. He said Lady Edwina and several of the kitty girls are discussing what's "in" this spring. Rumor has it that they might even start their own fashion line. They've been listening to music by the Irish Rovers and the Clancy Brothers while practicing Irish folk dancing. Everyone is feasting on the corned beef & cabbage. As for the Sparkler mystery, Groucho said the group has agreed to "don't ask, don't tell." No word on when they expect to reach Chicago. I could hear Eddie in the background singing "The Unicorn" song by the Irish Rovers and he sounds quite talented.

According to Groucho your kitty crew is safely aboard the Catmobile, they ate some corned beef & cabbage, joined in the dancing and are planning their strategy to find the elusive pot 'o gold believed to be hidden somewhere at the site of all the festivities.

Fister didn't manage to find a green outfit that he would be seen in, so he asked me to help decorate him a bit for the occasion - and he packed his rucksack filled with goodies. :D

Malcolms mom are coming back from Boston today, so she'll meet Fister in airport and make sure he get's on the right plane. He will meet you all in Chicago in a few hours - ready to party. :cool:

Fister and the green whiskers and toes are a hit! The fashionista ladies are all a-twitter about that! Pinot brought along some Chieftans CD's for the Catmobile to go along with everyone else's music-there seemed to be quite a party from what I could hear! Have a great time kitties! :D

Groucho briefly checked in. He and Inka along with all of the others are having a blast! The entire crew was quite taken with the river turning green, they never saw anything like it. Everyone loved the parade and they were even invited to join in for a few blocks. When the judges first saw Fister's green whiskers and toes, they thought the group were Mummers. From what I hear, our kitty crew was a big hit when they did Irish folk dances while Eddie sang a few traditional Irish folk songs in front of the reviewing stand.

Inka, Lady Edwina and Pinot assured me that not one of the crew has consumed any ale or spirits of any kind. These lovely ladies asked if I'd let all Meowmies know.

Our little kitties obviously had a wonderful time partying and celebrating in Chicago. Groucho and his lovely Inka arrived late last night but went straight to his tent and were sound asleep in no time. They both were still out cold when I left for work this morning. Inka said something about lots of singing, dancing, and feasting before nodding off. Perhaps I'll get more details when I get home tonight.
