I have taken my 7 year old poodle inside wal-mart once when we had just gotten her because we didn't want to leave her in the car all alone.

I carried my cockatiel about everywhere I went for about a whole year, I had a little animal carrier and he loved to go w/ me he would just be as quite as possible until we got back to the car, then he would start singing!

I have acarried our RB hamster Munchkin in walmart a couple times before...well I guess that's it for me :)

The only stores my dogs have ever been inside, have been pets stores. :D And all the other pets dont go anywhere, not sure how people would react to a chicken in a store??:p

Zoee has only been in pet stores. And with her freaking out when she sees other dogs, she hasn't been to the store with us in a long time.
Taz only goes out to the vet or to my moms if we go on vacation. And even then he usually ends up peeing on me. :o

Ginger has only been in pet supply stores. But my RB girl went in 7-Eleven with me once. On Sunday mornings Peaches and I would walk up to the 7-Eleven for the Sunday paper for me and a Slim Jim for her. One Sunday it was snowing when we walked up, and the manager was outside clearing the sidewalk and said that Peaches could go into the store with me. :) I thought that was very nice of him.

Only petstores.
Skylar gets to visit kids in the local library once a month, though. Technically not a store, but pretty close. =D

I used to take Teddy (bunny) shopping with me everywhere. He started to go into a really bad molt so I stopped and just never got back into it.

The dogs and cats have been to pet stores.

Dusty, Jack, Pooky & Bear have all been to the pet store with me. Bear only went a few times because he didn't seem to like it nearly as well as his brother Pooky. Jack only went once because he didn't like the dogs in there. All 4 of them have been on errands with me to the drive up windows at the bank and fast food though.

My dogs have only been into pet stores. A few of my pet have been to church. We took our corn snake into a restaurant once. Justin and I have taken several of our pets to the small private school where his mom teaches.

Like everyone else, only pet stores.

For those of you who sneak your pets into restaurants, that is not cool. I love my pets, and love their company, but lots of other people don't. I think there is a time and place for everything, and restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and shops are not for animals.

My dogs have only been to Petsmart. I have seen people holding dogs (chihuahua and yorkie) in other stores though. I belong to another board and have come to find out that it is much more common to take dogs inside stores, etc. in Europe. One gal from the UK frequently takes her mini poodle to the pub with her. No one bats an eye. :)

Those of you ment ''me'' only of course,

I don't think it's cool, it's just I was hungry and had my pigeon with me,

If they did not like the pigeon with me I would have left, some people even took photo's lol.

It was a one time thing.

Brick has been to Rural King, Dairy Queen, Huck's gas station, my grandparent's carhart store and the vet clinic I work at.

Beanie has been to Dairy Queen, PetCo, PetSmart, the vet clinic I work at, my grandparents Carhart store, and LOTS of other places.

Gracie has been to Rural King, PetCo, PetSmart, Seven Seas Pet Store, the vet clinic, my grandparent's carhart store, Dairy Queen, and a lot more places.

The lil puppy I'm raising is still too young to go places, but she did go bowling with me one night.lol

Umm... no, those of you meant any who take their animals into restaurants or stores, etc, not only "you".

Several of my cats (one at a time!) have been to PetCo, Home Depot, and the library!

My dogs have been to PetCo, Home Depot, the library, the bank and they got thrown out of the post office twice. (I seem to have the ONLY post office manager who won't let dogs in, and I tried twice as I was SO ticked off he made us leave the first time. ) Home Depot doesn't like them in there, even if I keep them in a carriage, and asks me to leave as well.

Lacey is the ONLY dog to ever sit on my bank branch manager's desk. :D

I took Sugar into Staples once, it wasn't planned and even though they didn't say anything, I could tell they didn't approve.

My dogs are WELCOME at the bank, he he, work practically stops in all the offices as everyone omes out to greet them. The tellers all ask for a visit even though they can't leave their stations, so I pick up one and walk the length of the window.

When Beenie was a puppy I'd brought her in a Walmart once. She was under my arm. They looked at me funny but before they spoke I told them it was too hot for me to leave her in the car and that I just needed one item from the dog section. (We were on our way back from a vet visit).
I know it was wrong to do but It would have been dumb to drive home and then drive back for the one thing I needed.

In Italy you can take your dogs almost anywhere. My poodle Deedee (long ago deceased) would go everywhere with me. To work, in restaurants, stores etc. She was a really good, quiet and clean lil one.
Most of the time, people wouldn't even notice her.

Only pet stores really. Once when Josie was a pup this convenient store let me carry her around because she was too small to tie up outside. They wouldn't let her in when she was bigger though.

All of my pets have been to my work down in the bar (not together) probably not a good place for them, but there were only regulars that day and they were happy to see them

Electra has been in the pharmacy I work at, as well as the Running Room(my dad is the area manager). she got to walk in and play and visit with custamers and employees at the Running Room, but in the Pharmacy I work at she had to be carried. the rest of my dogs have only been in pet stores.

Only pet stores for us. When Malakai was a pup we went on a cross country road trip to Georgia. He was small enough then (hard to believe LOL) that he went in almost everywhere with us. Lots of gas stations, starbucks, a dairy queen and even a couple walmarts. But if I were to do that now i'd be sent right back out the door .

Luna went to see "The Prestige" with us. Had to sneak her past security, but she was quite the little angel during the whole movie. She's also been to a thrift store...everyone was absolutely thrilled with here there :D

Toby has only been in pet stores...but he's such a handful that I don't think he'd be terribly welcome anywhere else.

I tried to carry Luna into Wal-Mart once but they made me leave :-( An Italian restaurant was kind enough to give us the okay to let her stay with us while we ate in the patio section.

Starting in 1975, there have been 4 "Radio Dogs" who helped me "fix" two-way radios and other
electronic "stuff" for Fire, Police, Business and Railroad customers. They've all been in places
few Dogs ever get to go ... most every Fire & Police station in NE Ohio, a couple jails,
and Casey visited countless Penn Central (later ConRail) Railroad locations.

Casey was probably the most traveled and most "famous" of the Pups -
she grew up with the railroad! She was still a pup when I moved into Ohio, and Penn Central RR
was my largest account ... our railroad buddies never remembered MY name;
but everyone knew "The Radio Dog"! Casey's Best Buddy was the local Captain of the ConRail Police ...
he'd "just stopped to see the Dog" at the shop at least once every 10 days. EVERY time there was a derailment, he'd make sure the Comm & Signals Department called
me to "check the radio" - even if it was functioning normally - he wanted the DOG! I'd get cryptic
calls to "come to the wreck at XYZ Tower, and Bring the Dog!"
"We'd" arrive and I'd go find the C&S group - usually to be told "the radios are OK, but the Captain
will be here in a minute." Sure enough, Cap would rush up within minutes and
announce "Gimmie the DOG - I need her real bad. Where's her LEASH - I gotta have a LEASH!"

http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/rolleyes.gif I learned to carry one for her on "Wreck Details" - even though Casey NEVER had
to be leashed ... he said no K-9 goes out without a LEASH! He'd hook her up, tell her to HEEL,
and off they'd go to strike fear and fright into the train looters prowling the wreck!
He'd have to keep reminding her - "QUIT *waggin your TAIL! - Look ferocious!" They ALWAYS
had a good time; and Casey could manage to "guard" the occasional looter the Captain arrested ...
he'd catch one and put Casey in a "Down, Stay, WATCH HIM! BITE him if ya have to!" while he
chased down another one or two bad guys. I told him more than once she wouldn't bite a fly,
but he always said "THEY don't know that!" We missed the ole Captain when he retired.

I agree......I have a friend who loves animals, but is allergic to them. In respect for her, and others like her, I wouldn't take my pets into places that don't allow pets.

When Buddy was about 6 mos old, I took him with me inside a AAA Motor
Club. The lady at the desk almost had a heart attack. I kept saying
"he's only a baby". It was in a little strip mall place & really only had people
who worked there inside. I just wanted to check a schedule & leave. :)

Besides pet stores, the only thing i can remember is taking my Rat Terrier into KMart once when she was a puppy.

I would have taken King more places (especially since we were so bonded and i had a few people suggest he was CGC worthy,) but we're in quite the non-pet friendly area. Heck, many people around here still think dogs should live outside only.

The birds stayed at home (obviously the fish and amphibians did too.)

Koli isn't that well mannered enough for me to even consider it. (Though she IS better behaved than some brats i've seen people bring with them. Although my reference was to canines, it can also apply to humans.)

I work at a pet store so they go to work with me all the time. They've been to plenty of other pet stores too.

When Nebo was a tiny puppy we went to Yellowstone/Grand Tetons and he went into quite a few places (being held). Nobody said anything, in fact, in Jackson, most of the store owners welcomed him and were giving him attention.

I didn't know I was going to get Keva when I did so I didn't have any supplies at all. We stopped at a dollar store on the way home and I brought her in and bought her a collar.

Oh, we did have the dogs in an outside section of a restaurant when I was with Kay in Florida...the restaurant allowed that, otherwise we wouldn't have. I've been to Yappy Hour twice and once it was in a hotel and the other time it was at the front area of a big shopping center...so Nebo has been inside those buildings too. Nebo has also been inside several dog-friendly hotels/motels that we've stayed in, Keva has been in one. The last time I was in Yellowstone I had Nebo with me. We were taking turns waiting outside the shops with the dogs. One store owner came out and welcomed us into the store with the dogs. :) There may be other places I'm forgetting, but with two large dogs its not like I can take them into places without being noticed.
