This is little Breezy wishing everyone a Happy New Year. She was adopted last January 25th from a rescue group.
On November second I noticed a lump growing on her chest. It was a cancerous tumor. The vet said this is very common in parakeets. Because of their small size, there was nothing that could be done. Make her comfortable, and when the time comes, we can take care of it. (These are the next two pictures, November second.)
The only thing I knew to do was pray. Some people don't believe in prayer and that's okay, but I do. In the scheme of things, maybe parakeets are not important, but she is to me. I prayed really hard and this is Breezy today. She is healed. The cancer may still be inside her, and she may not live that long, but at present she is a happy girl, eating, playing with her friends and enjoying life. (The last two pictures were taken December 27th.)
We are looking forward to 2017.
