This
is Maple. She is full of personality! we got her as a four-week-old bottle
baby. She can be difficult to show at times but she does really well in the
ring! She has a Reserve Junior champion at an open show and a Junior/Reserve
Grand Champion at a Sanctioned Youth Show at only nine months old.
The first show we ever took her to was the Indiana State fair this year and
she got third in her class of about thirty! When ever the judge comes by she has to
look up at them to say Hi. She enjoys the attention she gets at shows. She
also has a reputation in the show ring, even some of the judges know her by
name! when ever she gets tired of leading around the ring she will lay down
even when she is supposed to be walking. I've never seen a goat do this
before. Whenever she does this everyone is like "That must be maple!" Also
whenever I show her she likes to look up at the ceiling. You can see how
weird she holds her head on a lead in some of the pictures. Since she was a
bottle baby I never have to worry about her going anywhere if I let her out
of her pen. She will normally just walk around and eat leaves. She doesn't
run away from people like must goats will, Instead she will come up to you
looking for food or some attention. She is a pleasure to have around at home
and (sometimes) in the show ring, too.
