Need help finding a good pug breeder

My mom's friend is in love with Sylvia and she basically wants a Pug just like her. She asked me to find a reputable Pug breeder in our area. We live near Chicago, IL. She wants specifically a black female Pug puppy . I have been looking around the internet, but I'm having some trouble. Does anyone know of a good breeder I can refer her to or how I can find a good breeder?

yes. A girl on a conformation forum competes in juniors with and shows for Brenich Pugs, in Lake Bluff. They have a black pug, Harry Potter, but I don't know if they are planning any litters. I think you can probably persuade her that a neutered male is as good as a spayed female. If she waits she could probably get an AWSOME dog!

EDIT: "Didi was just bred to Ch. Brenich Prince Tobias. Puppy inquiries welcome! "

    Didi is a black pug.

Why not check rescues? My sister got her second and third pugs from Southeastern Pug Rescue in Atlanta. They have several on their website. I don't know where you are, but I'm sure there is a rescue in your area.

Here is where she could start looking:

    http://www.akc.org/breederinfo/breeder_search.cfm

A breed club is the best place to find a referral to a responsible breeder.

This link will help weed out the good from the bad breeders:

    http://www.geocities.com/Petsburgh/Fair/1901/chart.html

And if she chose to go the rescue route, tell her to check the shelters, breed specific rescues or:

    www.petfinder.com

If there is a Pug in need of a home in her town she should be able to find one on Petfinder. If she has a busy life or no patience for a puppy(house breaking, chewing) then I highly suggest adopting an adult Pug who's temperament is already set so there are no surprises like with a puppy and all medical work (spay/neuter, vaccinations, etc) will be done.
Love is Adoptable. Adopt a Pit Bull.

Don't Breed or Buy While Shelter Animals Die.

If Pit Bulls are outlawed, only outlaws will have Pit Bulls.
