    Sled pics...

Taken this afternoon. More pics of the dog's tails! My mom is coming to visit soon and she's a picture nut. Hopefully she will be able to get some of the other end of the dog team!

Taken not far out of the yard..that's Earle and Franklin, closest to the camera, Pacer and Antare in the middle, Pingo and Mac up front. I was home alone so only six dogs today--more than that requires assistance!

About 7kilometres into the run. Halfway up a big hill. Pingo doesn't really like to stop that's why she's turned around glaring at me!

On the way home, running beside our little lake. This is the same trail you usually see in my summer pics!

The lake as we went by it. It froze funny this year so not many skidoo tracks on it. I prefer to run across it, but not breaking trail if I don't have to!

Back in the yard, 17 kilometres later. Pacer and Antare waiting for their post run snack.

Earle doing some paw maintainence and Mac still ready to go some more. He got moved back halfway through the run. He didn't really feel like leading today. He was much happier back beside Earle in wheel. Franklin did a fine job up front beside Pingo.

I was searching for a cartoon online but the site is no longer there. I printed it out and it's somewhere at home on my desk. Anyway, it's of one sled dog behind another one and the caption is "wink, pucker, wink, pucker" You would really have to see the dog's face for it to be funny but that's what I thought of when you were talking about getting other than their behinds in the pics. Mac is a cute dog, too. He looks pretty young. I'll bet you have so much fun.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.

Mac is only eighteen months old. Just a baby, but he's very driven usually. Today he was distractable and wanted to dive off the trail when he was up front. I think he's got great potential to be a lead dog when he matures.

Great pics! I've always admired sled dogs and love to watch them "work". When I lived in Saskatoon I used to see a guy running his sled dogs all the time (even in the summer - he had a little cart doo-hickey that was pretty neat). Looks like a hell of a fine way to spend an afternoon!!

Great pictures!!! What fun you must have. My husband took us dog sledding as a family Christmas present a couple of years ago and it was such a blast!! You have a beautiful bunch of pups there!!

My brother found that cartoon! He had some saved on his computer. I wish I'd saved the ones I liked years ago because now the comics on his site are hard to go through. Anyway, I think this is appropriate for your pics.
