    Flyball

hi everyone i was wondering how many of your dogs are involved in Flyball.
i would love to hear storys about your training and when you started to compete.

clover has been competing for 12 months now and we have been through some tough time , our 1st comp/ tourny that we were entered in clover got done for interference before the end of the 1st heat so she got disqualified for the day , also our bordercollie x got done for inteference at the same time so it was up to our other 4 dogs to race all day and they ended up getting second place in our devision (the 4 dogs were 2 labs and 2 boxers)

but we are now working wonderfully as a team and have just gotton our 1 st height dog (miniture poodle) and are getting 23 second times on 11', and on 16" inces our best ever time competing was 24:61seconds

oh well ill stop rambling now

nope I've never done flyball but I plan to. Kai is my experiment dog. We're gonna try to do some agility, flyball and possibly herding....and if we work really well, maybe musical freestyle and frisbee. The only one I'm not sure about is herding....I think he'd rather herd them himself than listen to my commands. But I can't wait to start any of them. How did you get envolved with flyball?

thats wonderfull that you are going to try different activities with kai , and goodluck in what ever you 2 do together

we got involved in flyball about 18 months ago (when we first started training) , because i wanted clover to get more exercise and be able to see her mate's more often, so when a few flyball people and their pooches came to our club for a training/information session i knew it was the sport for her

we are now both obsessed (sad to say myself more than the dog) lol, and i have never seen clover more fit in her life

the only downfall is that flyball has turned clover into a barker, and will now bark at anything (and nothing)

we are off to the final round of the purina ProPlan cup in 3 weeks, i cant wait, it will be a 8 hour drive plus toilet/doggie play time stops so quite a long trip for one day of racing

I have 3 flyball dogs, our club has the fastest team in the region, PDQ Prairie Storm, our fastest time(over 14" jumps) is 17.2 seconds, we had a tourny just this weekend, topdogs was filming it, too bad we were having a bad day, storm always comes in first, but they just competed in a tourny last weekend, and befor they had a chance to get back into shape, they had to run again, so they lost like every race but then Inner Drive came and they are just too damn good, like all their teams are in division 1 now if only we did not do 2 tournys in a row....... lol, anyway happy is on the EH! team right now, happy will need to be moved to a different team somtime though, she is too fast, the only thing that kept the team from breaking out of their division, is that the others kept bobbling the ball but then, the storm team are direct relitives of happy! (her sir, older sister, older brother, litter sister) in that order happy just started racing yesterday, and is doing very well good luck too clover

Agility is more my thing, I train and compete with two of my three dogs and the third is now getting trained. But I will one day put Winter (border collie) in a flyball class, I don't think I'll compete with her though, she had a bad leg a few months ago and I don't want to risk hurting her.
    Goonies never say die!

Thanks Amy for the great sig!
