    How about some cats yawning?

Here’s a half-yawn from Fister (or is he just grinning?!):

    Here’s the real thing:

… and just one more time to make sure:

Notice his lack of a decent set of teeth. When we enticed him up, he had a broken top right tooth. It must have happened when he was a little kitten. The two lower teeth were removed after he’d had a fight with another cat in the yard, and his gums got inflamed. He had always had bad breath, but we weren’t aware of how bad it was. By the time we got him to the vet, (that was always a terrific drama!) they were very loose, and couldn’t be saved. But he manages fine with 1 1/2 of them!

it can only be attained through understanding."

    Here's Sunny yawning.

He looks quite vicious in this one.

    Here's my RB Pepper.

He looks like the MGM lion in this picture.

I don't have any of Storm.

Sunny is one of my favourites! The first one of him is SO funny! And in the third one, he has such a sweet look on his face!

Give him lots of kisses from us, and Fister sends headbumpies!

Ohh Pepper, you are missed SO much!

My digital camera has such a long delay on it, I snap when she starts yawning and by the time the camera goes off she finished and is in the next room....

Here's Tubby yawning. Now you have to be quick to see this so ok....get ready.....his eyes are getting heavy...

    There! Did you see it!

    Too late....

I have the same problem as Sara. I sit and wait and wait and wait, then I'm either too early or too late. I think I've discovered the secret though. When they're sleeping, have the camera ready, then wake them up sufficiently so they lift their head. They should look at you for a second or two to ask why you woke them, then have a nice big yawn, then put their head back down. I've noticed this "head raise, yawn, head down" pattern a few times now, I just haven't had my camera handy for it yet - except for the one above which I completely missed.

Great photos! My cat Samantha is just like Edwina and Tubby, I have never been able to catch her in mid-yawn! I do have lots of photos of her sleeping though.
    RIP sweet Samantha

We used this picture also for birthday cards as it looks as if they were singing: Filou's C''
