    Playing with Light (pictures)

We had some sunny days at last, so I was trying to do some backlight shots against the setting sun. Would have prefered this with persons or animals, but I had no one to model for me... But I still need some more practice for this kind of photography anyway!

I'm on my way to model for you --- I can't stop looking at the pictures, of course being a horse nut I love the round bales of hay.
Thanks for letting us share these pictures, they are fabulous- All of them would make good models for paintings.

Intricate and more delicate than the finest old lace
Yet sturdy and secure in its exuberance for life
Summer captured in every dainty petal and frond
    Curves refined enough to make
    An architect jealous
A green explosion as defined as any firework
    But less fleeting
Captured in the lens to hold
Against the inevitable coming of winter

    I love your photos!
When you said on FB that you were going to delete your older photos, it really made me sad... LOL

The airs smells ripe, and thick with memory
As the late summer sun sets low in the sky
The meadow cast in burnt umber hues
Silhouetting the lumbering forms of baled hay
Curled in mighty wheels and left in place
    Timeless as autumn's inevitability
Storing the summer's growth, seed heads and stalk
Grains grown to capture the energy and strength
Of all the spring rains and summer sun
Cut, captured and bundled just so
As men have done for centuries
Holding all of summer's treasure in tight packages
    To carry livestock and humanity
    Through the long dark days
    Of winter yet to come.
