What a heartwarming story about your Mr. Milo by his loving parents. His
truly a beautiful and loving little boy and how very lucky he is to have parents
like you to share so much love and wonderful memories together for years to
come.
My little boy, Fritzie, was just as wonderful as Mr. Milo. Although my story
is a little different you see my Mom had suffered a stroke and our little
rescue Maltese of 9yrs had just passed away. My Mom could only say a few
words in Greek or English and they were simply "want dog". So, I had no
time for looking or training a puppy, so, I contacted FOCAS here in San Diego.
I asked if they had a Maltese that required a home, since we always had
little white Maltese dogs in the family. FOCAS said 'they would try". A few
hours later after giving Mom her lunch, the door bell rang and I answered it
to my SURPRISE there was a little boy Yorkie tied to my doorknob with a note
attached saying "Please will you be my forever Mommy, as my Mommy has no
time for me?" Who could resist such a beautiful and loving face as his. His
eyes where so very gentle and kind, light brown, and he too, had the 'biggest ears' I had ever seen on such a little head. Before I had a chance to pick him up, he scooted down the hall and jumped on top of my Mom's lap giving her so many kisses that she was laughing and crying as much
as I was. His name was 'Fritzie' and he became the biggest love of our lives.
He only barked a birds and the doorbell [on TV or real] and had the most
calming and relaxing personality for Yorkie, so I was told. We never found out
who left him or why our home, but we were so very grateful as we were a
family once again. My Mom died in 1999 and Fritzie died of old age after I
returned from the hospital having a hip replacement. I walked in and Fritzie
was on his blanket as always, but, he was blind, deaf, and his hind legs had
arthritis but he was never in pain. Somehow, he knew I was home and I watched him wiggle his little tail and behind, with his ears erect & head high
he came to me as always. My husband put him in my arms and we kissed
as we always did. My husband put him on the bed, and he waited for me.
Fritzie and I were in bed together with kisses galore until I told him
it was time for sleep. He cuddled up and rested his head as always on my chest and we slept threw the night. When I awoke in the morning, I found my beloved Fritzie had gone to sleep forever more...
It has been 2.5yrs since his passing and every waking moment I miss him so
much. My health has not improved since his passing I require more surgery in
the next few months and year. Even going thru all this, my biggest hope is
that one day I will be able to care, hold and love a little one like him once again. I offen think, how wonderful it would be to have a little boy like him
& we could take Therapy Training together, so we could bring joy and love to
children and seniors at hospital and care centers. Fritzie would have loved to
do that, as we offen went to the library and would read to the children while
Fritzie would go around greeting them all. I still receive lovely notes from
the children asking when we will return....
If, there is anyone in San Diego, who ever hears of a little boy in need of a
loving and forever home...drop me a note.
Love To All
