    louise's blood test results

I called the vet today to see what the test result was, and it IS the herpes virus. oh great so that means that is what Emma has too, and Charlie, though Charlie seems to have the mildest case of it, which is strange because he has been around Patches the most.

so in trying to help cats, I made 3 sick that weren't sick before!

Can the medicine help, or does it just have to heal over time?

    Good luck.

Please, don't be so hard on yourself. Sometimes our very best intentions can turn on us.

Let's just hope the medication will heal them!

Don't fret. MooShoo had the herpes virus in his eyes (that's why he's almost completely blind). Medicine will take care of it. It will eventually become dormant (non-active). Once that happens you don't have anything to worry about. Herpes can be brought on by stress (that's what I was told by the opthalmology specialist). My other cats were also exposed to it even though it was not active. Not only that, but he tested positive for FIP, which means he was exposed to it but will not necessarily get it. Which also means that my other 5 cats ALSO were exposed to FIP.

I will keep you and your furbabies in my thoughts and prayers. Just medicate them per vet's orders and love them.

Mary, you didn't know that Patches had this when you adopted him. Please don't be so hard on yourself. In time all of your cats should become better with the proper meds. Look at it this way, at least it's treatable. Good luck.

Yes don't be so hard on yourself...
You didn't know Patches was sick... at least those kitties have a warm happy home to live in and with a great Mommy to give them the medicine they will need to get better...
I will be sure to remember your sweet kitties in my prayers... and give them a hug for me.

thank you all. I feel alot better now. you are right it is treatable.
I was told the same thing, that it is brought on by stress, and it could come back in a few months or not for 10 years...
but I worry when I read that your cats eyesight was effected by it? I wonder if that will happen to mine? I feel bad for any cat that is blind...
