    Owl photos (5)

I went shopping today, and on the way into the shopping centre there was a man with an owl (with a donation box thing)... so we asked if we were allowed to take a photo and he said yes, gave me a glove and put the owl on me.... I dont usually like birds (they kind of scare me) but I think owls are gorgeous.... I didnt find out the owls name, all I know is that he was 5 years old

(Lol, sorry, I dont look the best, I had no make up on etc)

The man putting the owl on my arm (and me freaking out when the owl spread out his wings)

    The owl sitting on me

The previous 2 photos, but just the owl so you can see it better

    Thats all

He/she is just beautiful. We had an owl last spring/winter in our backyard I could hear whooo whooo through the fireplace vent but I don't hear him anymore I enjoyed his sounds I hope he comes back.

That statement reminded me of the first time I ever saw an owl. I was a little girl (maybe 6 years old?) and my dad had accidently left the garage door open one night and an owl flew in and perched himself in the garage. He slept there all day long and I was terrified of him. I wouldn't leave the house and I just kept peeking through the window throughout the day to see if he was gone. My dad purposely left the door open again that night so the owl could leave and he did.

    Wow! What a beautiful bird.
    Thanks for sharing the pictures.

My big bad pit bull is scared to death of owls.. Last night I took her out to potty, and we heard the weirdest noise I have heard in a while.. I assume it was an owl, but I couldn't see it, so I'm not sure. It didn't sound like a typical "hooo hoo" that you normally hear.
Well, it made its noise again after we first heard it, and Alize' slowly backed her way back on to the porch where I moved to, and was standing in between my legs, growling... Everytime I would move, she would move with me... What a big brave girl.

What a gorgeous owl!! How neat that you got an upclose experience. Are they endangered in your area?

How very very cool. I think a lot of people would have been too afraid to hold the owl. Good for you.
Tis a lovely bird, you look cute too.

Cool pictures! I remember once, the forest ranger in my county brought a couple of birds, mainly owls, to school for us to hold. I remember this little orange owl, it was smaller than my hand. I was holding it with my index finger, it was so light. Then she brought out this giant vulture and I had to brace my arm to hold it up because it was so heavy. That was one heck of a day lol.
