    Sasha is coughing

And spitting up a wee bit.

I called the vet and we're in at 3 tomorrow, can't get in before.

Could it be heart failure, trachea issues, stress because we are moving, stress from the new puppy?

    I don't know.

I feel so badly for her.

Background, she's 14 years old with thyroid issues, on metacam for pain and meds to help her tummy issues.

    Any thoughts, ideas?

Maybe a reaction to dust if there's a lot stirred up by the move? Poor Sasha, hope it's nothing serious!

It seems after one last round of coughing she is finished. I sure hope so. It's been 1/2 an hour without a cough. She's napping now and her breathing sounds way better.

Does it sound like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx7tveHyFqk

Kennel cough was going around Vancouver recently.. I wonder if it's going around Calgary too? All three of my dogs got it. I believe Kai was the only one who threw up (clear mucus). It sounds horrid but goes away on its own after a week or two.

I just got an email from my agility group saying kennel cough is really making the rounds in Calgary right now. It could be that.

    *Thanks Ashley*

Thankfully I have Sasha vaccinated for Kennel Cough. The vet says that she has a sore throat and old lungs. The sore throat is likely from it being so dry and dusty here and the fact that she's 14. He gave us a cough suppressant. She should be fine. Thank goodness.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and comments.

Oh oh, poor Sasha - I'm sorry, I would help gladly if I could, but I have never had this happen to me before. I'm sorry - I hope she gets better VERY soon!!

RipplingWaves: A gentle suggestion - read the WHOLE thread before writing an answer. Just before you wrote, Sasha's owner wrote this:

You were answering the FIRST post, before Sasha had seen the vet. It's just that it makes it seem like it's STILL an emergency, which it isn't now.
