    A storm is coming!

Just got back from the job on the boat and while we were out this time we ran into a lot of storms. This day, July 7th, I was in the galley cleaning up after supper when I saw how dark it had gotten outside. There were some really thick dark clouds moving in all around us but there was a reflection of the sun on the water so I went outside to see where the sun was coming from. The whole crew was out there looking and watching too. They were scarey as heck but they were also beautiful. None of us had ever seen clouds like them before so while we were scared of how they looked, we were all in awe of the beauty of them. Of coarse, I ran and got my camera and took some pictures. Here are a few of them....

This one is my favorite... I looked up to see the sky above the wheelhouse and knew this was to good a shot to miss!

Here, the guys are throwing the rope up and down the awning that was covered in plastic because they were spray painting the boat all trip, they were spraying with white, the awning is new and it is blue so it was covered in plastic all trip. The wind was getting pretty rough so the rope way laid up and down across the whole awning. Look at those clouds!

Oh wow, looks scary! Almost like the sky over here a couple of days ago, before we got our heatwave.

I know I posted them before, but I thought I'd share them again because they resemble "your" clouds so much. Hope you don't mind, but I never saw something like that before.

Glad you made it home safe. Storms must be even more scary when you're on a boat!

Actually I would rather be on the boat during a storm.. Those boats are heavier than any house and I actually feel safer on them that I do at home...

Kristen, those clouds look exactly like the ones we saw and believe it or not, I thought about you and wished I had your camera to capture those clouds instead of the one I have.. I was thinking "I bet Kristen could capture them 10 times better than I can!" I am glad to see I am not the only one who found them so facinating...

    Here are some more

Oh no, Laura, mine are definitely NOT "10 times better"! I cannot see much difference between your shots and mine. You captured those clouds very well with your cam. I'm just looking at the new photos you posted, and it's amazing how "our" clouds look alike! And scary, too!

Kind of looks like the storm that blew through at 3 p.m. today. Did it produce a lot of rain?

When you were a kid - did you ever try to find faces in those clouds?

They look like the saying "God is coming and is he ever p______."

They look pretty angry. I am glad that you got home safely too.

They do look alike Kristen, it is almost hard to believe that they are not the same storm! WOW!

ramanth, they didn't produce much rain on us but I think they got rain all around us. I even has one shot in took in that bunch where you could see the rain off in the distance. The wind kicked up, the temprature dropped fast and we knew we were in for it. It's blow and clouds was about the worst of it that we actually got...

gini.. Things in the clouds. I was on a boat again... In Baton Rouge and there were those pretty white fluffy clouds. They were so pretty, I was spell bound... them I saw it... I kid you not... plain as day, without a doubt... A Santa Clause Face so real that I jumped up and ran got my camera but it was gone before I could get back and get the camera turned on. Another time, again in Baton Rouge but on the interstate and at the time I had a CB raido in my car. The truckers were talking about the angel wing in the sky.. I look and there it was... a single white angel wing, absolutely beautiful! No camera in the car but that would have been a shot of a lifetime!
