    Reggie is gone :(

Reggie is now at the Rainbow Bridge with Smokey. He's been going downhill for quite some time but the past couple of months he was even worse. My mom made the decision to send him to the RB tonight. I made the mistake of going with her, I didn't want her to have to go alone. That was the hardest thing I have ever witnessed. I have been crying all night, I just cannot stop. I miss him so much. He would have been 14 in March.

Reggie please know that we all love and miss you. I hope you are happier and pain free up there with Smokey. I love you old boy, please forgive us for having to let you go, we didn't want you to be in pain, you are free now. You were such a good dog, I'm glad I was able to grow up with you as my friend.

Happier times when he was young, he loved to chase sticks in the lake

    With Smokey

    With Sydney

On vacation with us last summer

I have pics on my camera but I can't look at them right now.

Good-bye sweet boy, we love you.

Oh Amy, I'm so sorry to hear that. I know you, your family and the other dogs are all going to miss him, but as a friend of mine said recently he's not gone, you'll all remember him with stories and pictures and eventually you'll see him again as well.

{{HUGS}} and let me know if I can do anything for you.

Thanks Amy for the great sig!

    Dear Amy ~

I offer my Heartfelt Sympathies to You, your Mom, and your Dad on the loss
    of dear Reggie.

You're all to be commended for having the strength to send him off to
The Bridge ... and not insisting that he "hang around" in discomfort any longer.
And I'm sure your Mom appreciated your going with her, Amy.
In time, you'll be glad you went, too.

Your Buddy Smokey will meet you ... Enjoy a good romp at the Bridge, Reggie.

    Big {{{Hugs}}} to you, Amy.

    Oh Reggie, those ears!
Imagine all you are hearing now, at the Rainbow Bridge
All the stories you are sharing with your old buddy Smokey,
All the memories you are sharing together

You will be missed here, but we know you are whole there
Painfree and as chipper as a dog ever could be
    A young and handsome doggie

And still, you will always be here
In the hearts of your people, especially your girl
And every dog she ever loves, well, you get credit
    For raising her well.

Oh Reggie, handsome man, you are loved.

    Amy,
What a brave brave thing you did, accompanying your Mum.

Play hard with Smokey at the RB darlin. You were such a beautiful pup ....

Oh, Amy, I am so sorry. Reggie has been part of the Dogs of Pet Talk for a long time. I've always marveled at the wonderful life he (as well as Smokey) had. The vacation picture is an indication of the many great adventures your family made possible for him. Obviously he was a vibrant dog who as Karen said, *raised you well*. A little dog with a big heart. You will never forget him as long as you live, and I know right his loss creates an immense void for your family that seemingly cannot be filled.

Good bye, Reggie, a true Dog of the Day. We will miss you too.

please forgive us for having to let you go
Oh Amy, I am so sorry. Please don't ever feel Reggie needs to forgive you for letting him go. It is the greatest gift we have to let our beloved animals go peacefully from an old and/or sick body.
Reggie is healthy and happy at the Rainbow Bridge now and yes, with your Smokey.
    Reggie had a wonderful life here with you and your family. I'm very sure he had more than enough love to take with him to the Bridge. {{{hugs}}}

Amy I have tears in my eyes right now. I guess I didn't realize how much ground Reggie had been losing so I was not prepared for this. It always amazes me that I can grieve for dogs that I have never met, right along with their people. Reggie has been a familiar face around here, as was Smokey. I imagine by now precious little Smokey has met up with him and is showing him around. (((Hugs))) to you and your mom.

Oh Amy, I am so sorry. I am seriously crying here. Reggie was such a special boy, but it was you and your family's love that enabled him to become such a special boy. That love followed him through the very end, allowing him to go to the bridge when he needed to do so. I am sending you all the {{{Biggest Hugs}}} I have.

Run free and chase stickies again, Reggie.
