Our Second Olney, Il Rescue Is Complete... Lots Of Pictures!!!

In my last thread, I posted that I was going to pull some kittens and puppies from the Richland County Pound in Olney, Illinois. Well, we met the guy, Jim, in Bradley, Il this afternoon. We picked up four kittens and three puppies that would have been put down otherwise. We brought them home and gave them a flea/tick bath and settled them in to their kennels. They all need to gain some weight and see a vet first thing this coming week. The two Rottie mix pups have scabs all over their back and face from flea bites, but I am sure they will heal nicely. Their gums are pretty white so I am giving them Pedialyte and sugar every few hours to bring their sugar up (thank you Katie for the tip). All will be spayed/neutered A.S.A.P. I have homes awaiting three of the kittens and hopefully all of the pups, but we will see. I know this is cat general, but I am going to post all the animals here due to the fact is was a rescue based on the kittens. Hope nobody minds. So, here they are.

    First the kittens:

This is an orange 4-5 month old male. He is very big for his age, he may be older. We will find out when he goes to the vet. We have named him Leroy.

Here is a 12 week old buff male. He has a bad case of ear mites. You can see the aftermath of me cleaning his ears. He did not like that very much. I call him Jr. due to the fact he looks just like Chooch, another rescue who is now living with my brother.

This lil' guy is a long haired orange boy. He is about 8 weeks old. I have been calling him "Puff-ball"...he is so fluffy!

This cutie is a medium haired boy that we think is a Flame Point Siamese mix. He is called Sockie due to his Siamese mixture.

    Puppies are in next post.

Here are the pups...I hope nobody minds I am posting them here. I wanted to keep all the Olney animals in the same thread.

Here are the two Rottie and I believe to be Shepherd mixes. They are guessed to be eight weeks, but I feel they are younger.

Individual pictures of the lil' girls. My boys named this one Peanut. She is a little shakey and scared, I am sure she will come around nicely.

This is Peanut's sister. She is a little bit smaller, but just as cute. Her name is Butter. (my boys thought it would be cute to call them Peanut Butter!)

This girl is a Beagle/Terrier mix pup. She is said to be about four months old. She is very timid and shy, but it is just her first day here. I have named her Hope.

Hope has fallen in love with this red towel!

I have taken a lot more pictures, but I know I can not post all of the pups here so I am going to post the other picuteres in Dog General if you guys care to see them. I sure hope these pups get better and open up a bit. The kittens are all very friendly and super playful!! I am very confident they will be happy in their new homes. Seven more lives saved.

Those pups look like ACD mixes to me! The kittens are adorable! I love the first long haired one.

Thanks for halping these babies. I am just in love with Leroy. And the long hair orange has the most gorgeous eyes. Good luck getting them into new homes.

Good thing you're not close to me! I would steal Puff! I LOVE that widdle poofy boy!

Leroy reminds me of CCL's Leroy and also looks like he has the same mischief in his eyes. He's going to be PHUN!

Thats so very sad that people think more of thier god damned toys and possesions that they do Gods Creatures.
When I see the Poor Cats and Dogs at Petcetera , begging you to take them home, it just makes me so angry at the people who gave them a home, and then gave them up.

The flame point looks so pitiful, like he feels so bad. I hope he will be getting to the vet real soon to make him feel better.

These pics were taken just after his bath. He seems okay. He is not sneezing or coughing. I am going to keep an eye on him. He is going to the vet this week if all goes well. So far, he is okay though. I will post more pics in the next day or two.

Those kitty babies are adoreable and if I could have one based on beauty, it would be hard to choose.. If I could have a dog, I would take Hope in a heartbeat... She just looks like she is a wonderful girl and would make someone a wonderful companion... Cute as can be..
