Show us your Freckled noses! Is it only orangies that have them?

Right off hand, the only PT kitties I can think of with freckled noses are orangies. Is this something that is more prominent in orange kitties like it is in humans with red hair? Of course I am brunette, and I had some freckles as a child, but you know how redheads tend to have more? Let's see your freckle-faced kitties! Here is my Rusty:

Well, you know why Freckles is named Freckles!

Besides orange, she has lots of white and black!

Here's Fister with his cute freckled nose.

Love the pictures of goofy Rusty and beautiful Freckles.

    He's a doll!!! I am in love!
I see he has freckled lips & eye lids too. Meko does too. I think it's the cutest thing. Her nose also started out all pink. I remember when I noticed the first "freckle" for the first time, I kept trying to wipe it off, thinking it was dirt.

Mitzi is honored. What's funny is that Mishi does not have nose freckles, but he does have lip freckles. I'm looking for a pic of his sweet freckled lips. I *think* I have one somewhere.

Theres a Name for it ... Lentigo Simplex in Orange Cats

So, I got to thinking - I can't remember any other colour of cats with freckles or pepper-nose, so did a little research --

    From http://www.cat-world.com.au/Glossary...tigo%20Simplex
Lentigo Simplex - In orange cats it causes multifocal pigmentation on the lips, nose, gingiva, and/or eyelids. Small black spots that appear often appear on red cats lips or nose that can be up to 9 mm in diameter. They cause the cats no harm; Freckling on orange cats.
    From http://www.vetlearn.com/images/SA%20...t%20lentigo%22
    PIGMENTARY DISORDERS
Lentigo Simplex in Orange Cats Lentigo simplex in orange cats is an idiopathic, asymptomatic, multifocal pigmentation of the lips, nose, gingiva, and eyelids. Early lesions of small, black spots on the lips are observed in the young cat (less than 1 year). These gradually increase in size and may coalesce to form areas of macular melanosis up to 9 mm in diameter.
Diagnosis is made on the basis of history and clinical signs. Biopsy findings confirm the presence of hypermelanosis. No treatment is indicated since the lesions are asymptomatic and do not transform to melanomas.
Soo... its a completely harmless (and cute!) pigmentation -- or freckles -- just like a lot of other red-heads get!

And it even has its' own 'medical' or clinical term -- Lentigo Simplex in Orange Cats

... and more pepper-nose pictures of Hobbes
