Beautiful Bandit or How to keep a husky still..

After calling Bandit repeatedly this morning, I started looking around the yard for him. He never comes when he's called so this was no cause for panic. There he was in the far corner of the yard:

Still as a post! Highly unusual for a husky, even one as lazy as Bandit!

Go away, Mom! Can't you see I'm busy?

Such a handsome boy. Too bad he never showed this kind of focus in harness. He never was a very good working dog! Yes, the white stuff on the his fur is snow! We had a pretty good flurry this morning!
And what could be so fascinating?

A squirrel, who apparently has a death wish. Not many squirrels venture into this yard anymore! Fortunately for this little fella, the water delivery driver showed up this morning. He usually carries dog treats with him so everyone ran over to greet him and the squirrell wisely made a break for it!

I love how intense, yet patient his posture is; so content to sit and wait. That squirrel deserves the break he got for providing such great pictures of Bandit. He’s such a handsome boy just waiting his turn with calm intention.

We're actually a little sick of the snow now! It can stop until September or so! It's not enough to do anything. I took my kayak down a few days ago, now I'd like to use it!!

I can understand the need to get rid of the pesky snow and get going with that kayak! We recently had some rather cool weather here but it's hotter than blazes out right now. I'm not looking forward to the long, hot summer
Did I mention the word "hot"???

Well, you should head this way! Environment Canada's long term forecast has the rest of the country having a hot, dry summer, except for the Yukon and NorthWest Territories. We are supposed to be damp with below normal temps. Even our normal summer temps are likely cool for your area!
