*DONATIONS NEEDED!* Dazzle has a Broken Leg *UPDATE: Post #9*

Hi everyone! I know I haven't been around much, life has been busy...

A 5 month old BC puppy named Dazzle came into the rescue that I foster for. I was supposed to foster her, but with my surgery coming up, it would be too hectic. I can't help but feel that it's my fault the following happened, and that if I had taken her for even just a week, she would be fine...

Dazzle was outside playing with her foster mom's dogs. All of a sudden, there was a shrieking from the backyard. Foster mom rushed out, Dazzle wouldn't walk. She most likely caught her leg in the stairs.

The vet told us that the growth plates being involved is a very bad thing. They will have to put in a plate and pins, and the leg will not grow anymore... but he said the most important part of her growth period is over, so it won't be terrible, and she might still be able to do dog sports when she has recovered.

We are asking for your help! This has totally wiped out Hull's Haven Border Collie Rescue's bank account. The surgery will run between $1600 and $2000. even just $5 will help. If you can find it in your heart to help us, we will be very grateful.

There is a paypal link on the rescue's website:

or you can mail us at

    THANK YOU!!!

I just got paid today, so I would be glad to make a small donation. Not sure how long it will take to reach Canada, but I will try to get it in the mail today or tomorrow. I don't have a paypal account.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

    Thank you Angie.

It's not too late to still send donations! As of Monday, $700 has been raised for Dazzle.

Dazzle had her surgery yesterday, and it went very well. She won't be able to ever do doggie sports though.

Now for the tough part.... confining a 5 month old BC pup to her crate for 4-6 weeks!

Here is an update..... Dazzle's surgeries went very well. Her pin was removed, and she is like a brand new doggy. She still has to keep quiet, but is no longer confined to a crate 24/7.

And an even better update.... DAZZLE HAS FINALLY FOUND HER FOREVER HOME!

Thank you to EVERYONE who donated to help with Dazzle's medical costs.
It couldn't have been done without you.
