Fritz you silly boy. My Bella used to love stealing socks but gave that up eventually. Now it is just basically tissues that she steals. :) Barry I hope your dad and your aunt will be OK. What a worry for you.

Helping with the newspaper, making sure dishes are cleaned of ham sandwiches and that your granddad has you nearby when he is resting on the sofa. Please ask your granddad to give you a pat for me the next time you are resting with him.

I enjoyed seeing so many pictures of you again, and I'll bet you really tired Taffy out during that visit.You looked so sweet and innocent at the top of the stair way~ So, by now, you must be catching on to your Pet Talk Stardom :cool:

This is what I have suspected too. He is Papa's shadow and might be tuned in on a higher energy frequency :cool:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/fritz26/morningnap.jpg Fritz having a rest with dad this morning on the couch.Fritz got scared yesterday afternoon.He either heard or saw a Raccoon or a Squirrel and he got scared and started running with his tail down betwen his legs.he ran around upstairs down to me in the Rec room and on the back of the chair.Fritz then took off upstairs again and got up on Mom's lap huffing and puffing,shaking.he didn't want to go out and mom gave him a few pieces of chicken for him.I picked him up after supper,gave him to mom and she put on a leash outside,he sniffed the whole patio before he did his business.Last night,he went up with dad to bed and at some point had come back down and under the small couch.Mom brought a piece of meat down,still didn't come out,so she left him there and he eventually headed up before i did and he was running around up there.he went to bed shortly after that.Mom says she has been sleeping better since Fritz started sleeping up there.fritz came down on the chair again as mom was vacuuming upstairs and he peed against the chair for some reason.he does this the odd time,even thouhg he has been outside. :)

Maybe he saw a bear? Has he ever been afraid of squirrels before? Poor little guy. I wonder what frightened him like that? I wish he could talk & tell us.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/fritz26/sittreat.jpg Fritz sitting in front of mom's chair begging for a treat.Last night,after being outside and coming downstairs,he sat on the back of the chair pawing me to go upstairs.He went upstairs and he went right to the bedroom and slept at the foot of the bed.Fritz senses there is something wrong with dad an d and he cuddles right up close to him.Dad has to have blood tests next week and goes to another to take some bone marrow.He thinks this might be helping somewhat. :cool:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/fritz26/papapal.jpg I may have already shown this before,but it is Fritz with dad on the couch.Had to get another computer yesterday, an Acer Aspire .The other went back to the other store where we got it.Once i plugged the printer and tried the computer,windows went,tok it back,it worked there and brought it back home where it worked good,also had problem with the mouse pointer,got that rectified.I tried the printer again,then turning the computer on,nothing again.I tried system restore,got it back,turned it off for the night and went to it the next morning nothing again and needless to say i was upset .As I said took the that back,went to another store where mom's hairdresser got one and has had no problems and got a new one,got the money back for the other one.We had a computer technician come from the store to our house to set it up so there would be nothing wrong and it is working great. :D

I'm glad to see you posting again, Barry. Sorry about the computer problems in addition to everything else. As I said to you before, you and your family are so good. It's so sad that you have all this hardship on you and it especially makes it worse to be before the holidays. My heart goes out to all of you.

I'm now convinced that Fritz has been protecting his Papa. That's where the growling is coming from. He senses something is not quite right and he's being a little protector. It's his job. He's looking adorable in his pictures as usual. Kisses to that cute little guy from us. Take care, Barry and family.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/fritz26/flippy-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/fritz26/drinky-1.jpg Fritz flipped over on his back next to dad and sitting in front of the fireplace waiting for me to get some water.Every year on CFTO Sports,they have people write in who want them to build a outdoor rink.it turns out this guy is having one built in his friends back yard who can't work anymore because he ahd Lou Gehrig's disease.He was diagnosed 5 years ago and is now 43,3 years younger.It hasn't progressed as much in him like dad.he can still drive,seems to talk fine and walk,but it will probably be a matter of time before it gets worse.Lou Gehrig died from it only 2 years after getting it. :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/fritz26/flipper.jpg Fritz flipped over next to dad this morning.As soon as Dad got the blue blanket put down on the couch,fritz gets out of the window and lays on the blanket.He is up with dad now,Dad is watching the Rachel Ray talk show.He has an appointment tomorrow tosee the a doctor.i found something on the Lou Gehrig website about a drug called Rilutek that is supposed to modestly slow ther progress of the disease,so mom is going to mention that to the doctor. :)

I'm quite certain that it was a sad moment , seeing that *Tracter * go away ( that part of life is now over~) Your Dad is keeping his Ducks in a Row~ He's a Great Sport!!!!

I truly hope that you can receive "Home Care", although you and Mom seem to be holding up so well~

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/fritz26/lights-1.jpg Fritz in the front windows,Christmas tree shining brightly.Dad had his appointment today and there may be encouraging news.it seems dad's blood is out of whack,so might be something to do with that.He found it odd that this disease would go from the legs to dad's voice.His next appointment is January 8th,then the 11th.the drug i found can help somewhat and is $800 a month,hopefully insurance will pay for some and we only pay $100 a month.Fritz is back in the window and will head there shortly. :cool:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/fritz26/standing-1.jpg Here is a funny shot of Fritz today standing right up in the window and watching and Larry and Marlene back in the driveway.We had quite a day today.First of all,my cousin Maurice Wood stopped in to visit dad,his mom and dad are my Aunt and Uncle and he was there visiting for Christmas,the they were going to my other Cousin Eddie's house for supper before he had to back go back home to Cambridge,Ontario,about 2 hours west of here,he is a truck driver.of course ,he was excited to see my cousin,even more when Marlene and Larry came,giving them kisses and wags.Fritz rested all day and he was ready for a big play,trying to get Taffy to chase,Fritz would bolt all over the living room under the dining room table and under the chair,Taffy wasn't in the chasing mood.Fritz got more treats and and as i said before he got a Loony squeaky,a Loon is a Canadian type of duck.i got some good gifts,a handheld t.v. which i am trying to figure out,pajamas and a pair of joggging pants.After the gift opening,it was time for supper,Taffy was at the table,Fritz felt left out as he was sitting all the way back in front of the couch.We had a capon,which is in between a Turkey and a Chicken,turnip,potatoes,brussel sprouts,duck,dressing,cabbage salad and carrots.Dessert was a Lemon dessert which had Graham crackers on it.Fritz was staring me out,he wanted a little bite,i threw him a piece of the chicken,come over and sat up wanting more,stayed quiet for that unlike lunch..He loved the Lemon dessert too.I was just trying the t.v out and was turning ther aerial around and i twisted and broke, i just feel sick about it.

We love seeing these great pictures, Barry. Fritz looks so cute, standing up at the window. The girls got their big nephews, Jake, Pistol, and Durango, a honking mallard for Christmas. It looks just like Fritz's Loon. They only needed to get one since the boys will share the same toy. Each of them takes a turn and lets the next one have it.

It sounds like you had a wonderful day today with the family. Sorry that Taffy didn't feel like playing, Fritzie. Thanks for being so nice to her.

I'm sorry to hear that Auntie Irene is having to go through such a hard time. I hope the doctors can do something for her soon.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/fritz26/sleepytired.jpg Fritz sleeping this morning at the end of mom and dad's bed.He finally went up last night,first to the living room chair then the bedroom where he slept at mom's feet all night.Dad was upset again last night,thinks he is going downhill,mom reassuring him he is doing well,I think he is and so does Marlene ,my sister.Samantha and Brandyn will be here today and that will sure cheer him up.I am not sure whn,but Auntie Irene will be seeing a specialist in Oshawa,which 10 miles west of here,to determine whether they will take a piece of bowel out,it is bowel cancer.Mom and Marlene are going to their apartment at some point,too many steps for dad.At some point ,when Irene is up to it they will come this way,they haven't seen Fritz for 2 months,he will happy to see them and they got some gift for him,don't know what it is yet. :) Had his cereal and toast this morning,tried coaxing him over to dad.He growled,he went on his own a few minutes later and that is where he is now.

The Aunties visited!!!! YAY YAY YAY!!!! What a big day it's been for you Fritz!! You must have been running around like a maniac when you saw them coming. It must have been a wonderful reunion.
Sorry to hear that you and Auntie Bev took a fall, Barry. Take it easy on that slippery snow. That's the only thing about snow I don't like. It's so slippery. Your Dad looks great in those pictures Barry. I hope he's feeling better since he had several visitors. How was Auntie Irene feeling?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/fritz26/comfydog.jpg Fritz all cozy,comfy on Dad's lap this morning.At first ,Fritz didn't go upstairs,then went, and he was at the top of the stairs,I told him go back to bed,not long later,he was there again and he had to go out.He doesn't like my toast anymore,he left that and only had my cereal and maybe porridge today.I haven't heard from some of you over the holidays,maybe busy,hope to hear more from you soon.Larry had made a cushion to help dad get off the cocuh better,apparently like it last night,now doesn't and it i off.It was easier for him to lift himself off with it on and the pole there,now it is going to be that much harder getting off.No matter what now,it is getting hard to please him.He picks arguments where there is nothing to fight about.Larry and his brother are coming either today or tomorrow to put rails around the tub.I imagine ,he will like it,then it seems after the fact,he finds something wrong.yesterday,Marlene phoned and she needed his social insurance number,easier for me to find it and give it to Marlene.I had to take everything out to find it,found it.Brought it all out to him said nothing about it and soon and mom gets home ,he complains to her about me taking it all out,didn't say anything to me. :)

Just take deep breaths and concentrate on what YOU know has to be done. And , allow your Father to Vent his frustration, sense that's all he can do on his own right now.

When my Dad could not get up without being lifted, my Mom bought a chair that had a seated lift. All Dad had to do was press the button and the seat would slowly raise him to a standing position. From there, He could grab onto his three pronged walker~

He has two more appointments in Toronto,one on February 8th and on February 27th . :cool: This drug is supposed to delay the progress of ventilator assistance or tracheostomy.It prolongs survival by 2 months,i guess every little bit helps.

Barry I love your pictures and look at all the new ones every chance I can get. I can sympathize with you and the things that are happening in your household which are stemming from your dad's illness. When my dad was very sick and my mom was his primary caretaker, many times she would collapse in tears just from sheer exhaustion. I hope things get better for you and your parents. When you feel stressed have some play time with Fritz and come here to PT to visit with all of your friends. :)

I was thinking Barry. You mentioned a few days ago that your Dad was going to a support group meeting. Can you find a support group for family members to go to? It seems that might help you if you can talk to other people who have family members that are going through this too. I really hope you can go and get some comfort and relieve some stress.

Dad was down here today,fiddling around near the the light that wasn't working the other day,got it working then,don't why he was doing.he was on his feet too much and can hardly move them.he was in a down mood again tonight,can't do what her wants.Also today,he come down to get blankets my sister had problems with the washer hose come off and floor got wet, borrowed our wet vaccuum,blankets i guess are to keep the floor clean when the washer is fixed. :D

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/fritz26/beggarboy.jpg This is Fritz last night begging to go out.he had been out twice,didn't need out andif it was just to go upstairs,he would just start barking,so he ended up having a run around the rec room that tired him out,under the couch he went.he did go up on his own,then i heard a little bark,he was at the top of the stairs,he needed out,so i let him out,he did what he had to do ad he came in and went to bed.I think he is still there now.We might get 4 inches of snow late today into tomorrow so have to wait on that. :cool:
