I thought that would be the best time also, but it's mostly birds in the early morning. Late morning seems to be best for the animals. People just seem to get luck at different times, though. I think only one poster has seen anything at night.

Edited to add that we are seeing a very beautiful early summer morning, calm, warm, peaceful, fresh looking. And I'm wrapped in long wooly dress and long robe, heat blasting away, and hoping that February passes quickly.

I was just going to re-edit my post about that. That's the first time I've seen anything other than birds in the early morning. I believe they are impala. I looked at a S. Africa site a few days ago and checked out their appearance.

This morning I saw two different kinds - so I am not sure if they are gazelle or impalas. I will be anxious to find out as well.

Right now there are only a handful on the screen - just wait until the whole herd arrives!!

I absolutely love, love, love this webcam! (can you tell I like it?)

Considering the relative shortness of their horns, they are probably young bucks preparing for the real fighting for females later in the lives. I thought I saw some dark movement in the trees also. Possibly wildebeest since those two groups seem to mingle frequently.

The operator has gone off for breakfast. I don't understand the fascination with the log by the water. He/She often focuses on it and I can't figure out what I'm supposed to looking at, perhaps just the log?

They were zooming through the tree and behind the trees I saw a giraffe's head for about 1 second. I want to see a tour bus.

I noticed that as well. If he had to go have breakfast, I wish he would have atleast put them on some sort of animal, lol
