Your Doctor was truthful , in answering your questions, but, he also told you that he is certain that from looking at the dye , they are benign, Just remember that!!!

As for the slight tightening in the chest, It could (could be ) anxiety, a mild panic attack.

Slick, I'm with you on this, I know you just can't wait to get this whole ball of crap over with!!!

It is the waiting and the worrying that are actually worse then the darned surgury and diagnosis. Trust me , I've been there!!!!!

I will always keep you in my positive thoughts and Prayers Slick!!!!

September 14th and my last day of work is September 8th.

For some " weird" reason, all of Slicks appointments coincide with the same dates I have with Doctors and Dentist!!!!

September 8th is your last day at work.~~~~~

and, Jenluckenbach, I don't have any cats, so, what can I use as an excuse for my own memory problems? (could it be our Dial Up connection?)

Hello all: I thought I was supposed to relax before sir-jury???? Not so. Today was so busy and it's not over yet.

I turned up at the Pre-Admin at 12:15 as scheduled. I didn't get out of there until after 4pm. What a nightmare. "Just take a seat in the waiting room and someone will be with you shortly." What is their meaning of "shortly?" One hour later I finally get to see the Clinical Thoracic nurse....then wait in the waiting room. Another hour goes by and I finally get to see another RN and then more waiting and then the anesthesiologist. After my appointment, I stopped in at work briefly (work is only 2 blks from the hospital and it's where I park my car) then left and made two stops on the way home. Finally walked in the door at 6:15pm.

I'm beat and have not eaten all day. My housecleaner is coming over tomorrow for the first time and I don't want her to see my place in a mess. Got to get some sorting out before she arrives at 10am.

However.....all is a go and I'm as prepared as I can be. Oh yea, I spoke to the admitting people to make sure I get a private room. No problem, she said. Yeah!!! By the way, I will be in Vancouver General Hospital....Jim Pattison Pavilion....12th floor. Don't know the exact room number though.

MOFF: I felt the angels following me today. Funny, but they never talk back even though I talk to them.

Gini: I read your post this morning and all the time I was waiting I was visualizing you seated upon the bench high up on a hill overlooking the field and talking to God. It was very comforting. Thank you.

Kass: Hello my friend. You have so much on your plate right now....I thank you for thinking of me.

Listen, can we all please turn our prayers to Kay and that dear sweet missing pup? Come home Kiki...wherever you are.

Probably the same as their meaning of "discomfort"

Great update! God bless her Mama, what a spunky lady! I hope the chest tube is out soon, sounds awfully uncomfortable. That's great that she will get to go home soon -- and the hardest part for Slick may be "taking it easy" once she's home. Good thing Dr. Pete will be watching over her!

    Thanks for the update!

I hope that chest tube stops draining soon so she can go home.

Oh just thinking about her chest tube makes me cringe.
I hope she gets to have it removed!
    Thanks for the update!

UGH! Those surgical drains are SO painful and they hurt coming out too. I hope she gets the really good drugs when they take it out. Thanks for all the updates. Slick, up and cleaning? LOL!

    Quote directly from Slick:

    Day Seven:

Things are looking up, the sun is shining through my window, illuminating the wonderful flowers I have on my windowsill. 7:30 AM I am awoken by Joel. Today I have the pleasure of being looked after by Joel. So far I have been poked by Joel, I have been felt by Joel and my vital signs are being monitored closely, because whenever Joel comes near the numbers skyrocket.

And who is Joel? The most delicious student Dr. you could ever want to meet. Scrubs never looked so good until now.

I am going to request a very special sponge bath today.

    More Later

So I get this urgent phone call this morning from her friend, Betty. She said that Slick called her and asked her to call me and ask me to phone her after 10AM.

So, I called............and the above is her direct quote. Do you all think she might be getting better??? Her boss came in to visit her so our phone call was cut short. (it's a good thing - Lord only knows what she would have shared next!! )
