This is the first time I have posted pics since the new Pet Talk update. I went last night for the first time, they had to reschedule me due to previous engagements. They are the most wonderful place ever! Both Graham and I loved it! Graham was a little nervous of the water tredmill at first, because they lock him in there and then it starts to fill with water...he didn't understand. But he did GREAT! He did 15 minutes in the tredmill and he had 1/2 hour of stretching and massage. I had a grand tour of the facility and I am going to be dropping him off Monday, Wednesday and Friday before work and will pick him up after work. They will take him out every hour for stretching and they will put him in the water tredmill 3 times a day. They also have a beautiful daycare facility so he will be able to spend time there and in their fenced in yard. It's the same price as if I take him for an hour after work, so I opted to drop him off. He'll LOVE it!

They also gave him treat after treat while he was on the water tredmill so he wouldn't get bored, and to make it fun. He really loved the place He's not going to want to come home with me when I pick him up after work

Thanks for asking about him. It means alot to us!
    Testing another pic:

That looks absolutely fantastic, I'm impressed only by looking at the pics of Graham on the treadmill. They sound like great people keeping him entertained while he is doing his therapy. I'm so pleased for you and Graham.

I wonder, do they take also humans? I could do with some of the excercises

What a fun job that would be, a physical therapist for animals. I wonder if we have any facilities like that around here.

    Leslie:
It looks like you and Graham have been rewarded, by finding this wonderful place, after so much grief. It was a long and painful experience for both of you but now everything will be fine. It's great to know that Graham will have so much fun during the day and get the full use of his leg at the same time. I doubt very much that he will not want to go home, he loves you too much to stay away from you.

Leslie I don't know how I have missed this post but I am so happy to have found it just now! What a terrific place for Graham to learn to "get back on all fours." I love the pictures of your little buddy working out. He is just such a special member of Pet Talk and I do wish he could read all of the loving messages that have poured in over his terrible ordeal. Please do keep us posted as to his progress. We love ya Graham Baby!! Keep up the good work!

Leslie, thank you for sharing the pictures and information about Graham's physical therapy and the facility. Now that we know somebody does veterinary P.T. and daycare at a reasonable price we can ask for it in our own communities when we need it for our furkids.

Hope Graham recovers quickly and completely.

Leslie, your first post on this topic described how a newspaper article pointed you to the perfect PT for Graham.
This week, in the Portland Oregonian, Pet section, I was startled to see a picture of an English Sheepdog in a similar underwater treadmill device. Article stated there are just a few of the devices in the country, but now WE know where there are two.

Underwater Treadmills for Animals - Locations...

I did a search on http://www.google.com with the parameters of ["underwater treadmill" +animal or vet] and got multiple hits...

Seems these therapy devices are becoming very popular with the Vet Universities and private practices. They have been used for many years by the equine industry for both race horse therapy and training.

Here's a link to one of the manufacturers...
    Ferno site.
They list the following recent installations:
    * Dover Veterinary Hospital - Durham, NH
    * Oklahoma State University Vet Hospital - Stillwater, OK
    * University of Tennessee - Knoxville, TN
    * Alameda East Vet Clinic - Denver, CO

And an article by the American Veterinary Medical Association...
    AVMA article.

Leslie, it's so nice to see Graham without his cast and actually enjoying himself. That looks like a wonderful place., so glad you found it. Hope there is one like that here in case we needed one.
