More despicable acts

I love this site and all its people, too. When I first got this computer about 8 months ago, I never figured on becoming "hooked" to a community! I still have not found any other board I am nearly as fond of, and have still not figured out the appeal of any chat room ("hi" "hi" "whatcha doin" "nothin" "your gay" "no im not" -really exciting, highbrow stuff in those chat rooms!), but I visit here nearly every day, and have even started visiting at work since my current job involves alot of "hold" time on the phone.

I remember when I first joined, someone was posting the idea that it would be so fun to meet everyone in person. Now that I have come to "know" and love everyone, I wholeheartedly agree! I know it would be impossible, but how much fun ot could be! But alas, some of us are literally worlds away from each other. so I guess we will all have to settle for reading each others' posts and e-mailing.

A similar thing happened in Halifax a few years back.
Some students got a hold of a cat, shaved all the fur off, set it on fire and tossed it out a high rise apartment.
When they were confronted, they expressed no remorse.
They were eventually kicked out of the university.
It really scares me that there are people out there who have no regard for life at all.
I firmly believe that anyone who would do that to an animal is capable of doing it to a person.

I believe that they were drunk, not that it's any kind of exscuse. And they certainly were idiots
The university wasn't going to do anything at first, but there was such an uproar on campus from other students that the university was forced to act.
Sometimes it really does pay to make your feelings known.

WACO-Formal misdemeanor charges have been filed against two Baylor University baseball players accused of killing and decapitating a cat.

Animal cruelty activists had tracked the case against pitcher Derek Brehm and outfielder Clint Bowers for more than two months.

Officials at Baylor, the oldest university in Texas and the largest Baptist college in the world, had been criticized for giving the students only a 15-day suspension from the team.

"We are happy that something has been done," Waco resident Jerry Layne, one of the protesters, said. "We didn't want to do this. We are not the type of people that go to Nieman-Marcus and throw ink on coats. We're peaceful. We just wanted something done, and we thought two months was long enough to wait."
