I don't dread going on vacation, but I am very sad to leave them and I do worry a lot. But now it might be different because I've always had a roommate so I knew that there would always be someone around who they trusted. But now that I live alone I might be a little more reluctant to go out of town.
    I've been Defrosted!

Thanks for the great signature Kay!

But there's so much to see in that world... Honestly, I can't imagine staying home and refusing a trip because I have a cat

I went to France last year and it has been the most beautiful experience of my life ! I love to travel ! And I will travel a lot!

Of course, I'll pay someone who'll take care of my kitty daily.
I hear ya...but we have 17 that have and use to a certain routine. Plus the cost of paying someone to come in and take care of them. Then we have ALL the park cats that still have to be fed and watered daily, this is also costly.

Sadly we have to make a trip to Arkansas. We were told we better come out and see my Dad before it's too late. We will be going the end of the month. I've frantically got the cats care arranged. A good friend will be coming twice a day to take care of the cats, dog, and tortoise. Then we hired a lady to feed the park cats. We will meet with her the following weekend for instructions and locations and routine. It's all very stressful. Even if it's a fun vacation, it's all too stressful. Plus we miss them very much once we're gone. I guess I just don't enjoy the traveling like I use to.

We just got back from vacation and I was worried the whole time! I was mostly worried about Lucky (he is the one with the Chylothorax) but he seemed to be ok. Yoshi on the other hand was terribly heart-broken. I was told he hid under a chair for 2 days and would not come out. We have been home now for several days and all three have been following me around and everytime I sit or lay down, Yoshi is holding my face! I guess he missed me the most.

Vacations are good, we all need to get away but I'm not sure which is worse, the stress you go through to get prepared for your trip or the stress & worry during the trip!!

Lisa, hope your trip to see your dad is a "happy" one...considering the circumstances. Our thoughts are with you!!

Thanks Catsnclay, this is not going to be an easy trip. He's rapidly declining so it will be quite depressing. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.
