I have 5 house buns and have 4 years experience at a bunny sanctuary in Mich. Thumper is a beautiful bun and sounds like she has quite a wonderful personality.
I have a lesson I'd like to share from experience...please don't let your bun chew or eat leather shoes...it may be cute but it very deadly. I lost a wonderful girl that way and I thought it was cute too.....the vet tried to save her but she suffered for a week before she died...the guilt was tremendous. Buns are very fun loving so get her a substitute...margarine tubs (empty of course), baby rattles that don't have a soft chewable surface, empty paper towels rolls, empty spools of thread (the bigger the better)and empty ribbon holders are among my favorites. There's a great website www.rabbit.org that is dedicated to rabbit care that's well worth a visit. They feature care, nutrition, behavior and health information as well as have links to other rabbit organizations including businesses who cater to bunny owners. In the meantime enjoy your friend...bunnies are wonderful pets!
