My family had a Great Dane mix when I was in high school/college and beyond. Gracie was a big black 3/4 Dane, 1/4 Lab rescue pup, heart of gold, brain of fluff, spoiled rotten gal. She was very black, very shiny, with a white Taj Mahal on her chest and white toes on her front feet. She lived to be 14 1/2, well beyond a Dane's "expected" age, which her vet attributed simply to her being loved so much and spoiled so much!
