Thanks everyone. I am crying now. I sure wish Graham could talk and tell me what happpened. I live in an apartment complex as some of you know. When I had pulled into the parking lot there was a dog sitting in front of my building and I thought, huh, that's wierd....a dog sitting without any owner, but then as I got closer to my car lot I realized that dog was Graham and he was holding up his front left leg compeletely but he came wiggling up to my car kind of guilty like. I parked in the car lot, my jaw dropped, because my husbands car was not there...I said, "Graham what the....what are you doing out here?" then with further examination I realized his leg did not look right. I looked in his ears, nose and looked at the color of his gums for any sign of abnormality or blood and he looked fine so then I flexed the three legs that he was using and he did not appear to be in pain...so I gently felt the leg he was holding up and I felt a bone pop. I told him to stay, ran inside, grabbed the phone, ran out dialing his vet's number. Inside I was crushed and horrified, but I tried to stay calm so as to not stress Graham out any more. So after the vet verified they had an opening, I ran back, threw the phone in the apartment, carried Graham into my front seat, and left. I did not look inside the apartment at all either to get the phone or when I threw the phone back in. While I was in the waiting room waiting for my appointment I tried to run threw what could have happened and why Graham would have jumped off the balcony. He's a smart dog, he knows very well that it is too high to jump. Something happened, something must have either spooked him terribly, or he was being protective. I was expecting a maintence guy to come and fix one of the toilets here, and it appeared someone was in the apartment because a few things in the bathroom had been rearanged or moved out of the bathroom altogether so I am calling the office today when they open and finding out which maintanance guy tried to fix the toilet in my apartment, and if they by chance know what happened to my baby. There is only one maintance guy that I allow to come in when I am not home because he likes Graham, the others' appear not to like dogs at all....so hopefully I will get some answers today. Either way, I will no longer let any maintance person in my apartment when I'm not home, and I will no longer leave my balcony door open for Graham. Live and learn. I will let you all know how he is when I pick him up at 7:30 tonight. Last night was his first night in a vet hospital in his life Poor baby. It was sure lonely and quiet this morning without my loyal friend.

Love you all. Thanks Phred for posting his picture, it moved me so much that it made me cry.
