Congratulations on your new family members! I'd love to see more pictures!

What kind of bedding are they on? What are you feeding them? ^.^

There is a really great forum dedicated to just ratties at www.goosemoose.com/rfc that you might like.

Also, please have money set aside for emergencies for them, up to several hundred dollars. Ratties can rake in vet bills VERY quickly! ^.^ (take it from someone who knows, and Luckies can second me. Sometimes -often- waiting a few days until your mom says you can take them in makes the difference between life and death)

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

Hehehe, sounds like you're all set! Do they like the ice cube? I may have to give one to my girls.

OH! Have you tried pea fishing with them yet??? If not, take a heavy ceramic dish (or a baking sheet or similar thing) and put about an inch or two of water in it. Drop in frozen peas, and watch the fun! Sometimes it takes them awhile to get the hang of it, but it seems like most boy rats learn to love it!

My girls got an extra special treat yesterday...a chocolate chip each! ^.^

Gah, I wish I could get my girls to use a litter box, or at least not to poop on their shelves!

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

He is a husky, a husky marked, not a TRUE husky. They call high marked rats huskies, but a true husky has a fading effect. We don't have real huskies here, well we do but I can't say where they have been imported to. So he is a blazed berk husky. Get it?

can I pm you about my ratties???

anywho, the first day I got them I let them poop and pee wherever their hearts desired lol. then the second night I changed their cage and kept all the stools from the day befor, and placed them in their litter box. Ever since then they have poop in their litter bow exna yesterday when they had diareah thanks to me I fed them to much dryed aprocote and it upset their tummies . they are better now lol.

They still pee where they want though male rats are like that .. lol... they pee on me, their food, eachother lol. everywhere but the litter box .

they love icecubes . it is hot hear we have no air conditioning so I use frozen ice cubes and somtimes frozed treats*blended treats*.. they love it.

I havent tryed the fishing for peas thing yet, sounds cute, I will get my mom to but peas this friday .

WOlfChan, my girls LOVE icecubes! It has been so hot here lately, 95 degrees inside our house ( NO AC, although the rats have a swamp cooler) so they have been getting them lately. These girls hadn't had them yet, but they sure did love to chomp on those. Darnet, that's what I forgot, PEAS! Guess it's time to go back to the store tomorrow.

I give frozen treats too! I'll give you their favourite recipe, I swear, they will go after this more than anything else!
(sorry, don't really know any measurements)

1 container of unflavoured yogurt, some strawberries, a bit of apple sauce, about half a banana, a raw egg (the freezing should kill any bacteria). Blend it all together, put it in an ice cube tray and cover with seeds and freeze!

I tried the fishing for peas thing, my rats ignore it lol. They hate water
    I've been BOO'd!

Please do! I LOVE to talk ratties!

Wolfsoul: I'll bet the girls would love that, but it sounds so fattening! 0.0

Right now I feel like a bad rat owner, but my girls are loving me for it. See, I ran out of Teklad lab blocks this morning, so I'm feeding them Reggie Rat (A junk seed mix food) until I get some more. THEY LOVE IT, but it's so bad for them I feel terrible!

    Thank you Wolf_Q!
