Microchipping is different. In the microchip YOUR information is recorded therefor, if in a situation of your dog getting stolen you can get it back 100% no matter what someone says, Your information in the chip, your dog.
Actually, in a case where your dog is stolen, a microchip would be very little help. Who on earth (even a thief) is going to take your stoeln dog to the vet to have it's microchip checked after they just stole the dog? I'm not saying microchipping is bad lol, I quite like the idea of it, i'm just saying that in that situation it wouldn't be as helpful something more visible, like a tatoo.
