OMG! What a CUTIE and brave bird to meet a big pup! From the pics, he/she looks very young, so your bird is probably just a few months old. After the first molt, its easier to tell if its a male or female. Right now, the looks are female, but if the bird is young, it could very well be a male. Since you have a normal gray cockatiel, when he/she gets older, if its a male, the face you become a very bright yellow with no gray on the face. If not, its probably a female. If the bird is vocal, (singing a lot) its probably a male. Good luck with your new tiel! One thing I'd like you to be aware of, since it seems your pups and bird already love each other , is that don't allow them to lick the bird or for the bird to touch their saliva in any way. Birds have very little bacteria in their mouths and the bacteria from the mouths of dogs and cats can make them very ill or even kill them. Also, be very careful when the bird's around the dogs, because you just never know. It seems your pup is very sweet with him/her already though. More pics please and I'm sure that with time, you'll come to love life with your new feathered friend!
