The "rule of thumb" I have always heard is water it down real well and then wait until it is completely dry before letting your pets out. I think you are probably safe at this point, if the sun comes out and the grass dries, but if you are the least bit worried, I would wait. I would hate for either of those beautiful babies to get sick!!!
